RED, WHITE AND BLUE DESSERT
This is a yearly tradition in my home since I found this recipe in TOH in 1994. My family and friends look forward to it every year. I make it only on the 4 of July or Memorial day, just because I love the idea of the tradition, but would be a great desert any time. I hope you like it as much as we have.

Steps:
- In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar and extracts until fluffy.
- Fold in the whipped cream.
- Place a third of the mixture in a 4qt bowl.
- Reserve 20 strawberries halves and 1/2 cup of blueberries for garnish.
- Layer half of the remaining strawberries and blueberries over cream mixture.
- Top with another third of the cream mixture and the remaining berries.
- Spread the remaining cream mixture on top.
- Use the reserved strawberries and blueberries to make a flag on top.refrigerate.

A great romantic mix of two favorites - tiramisu and fruit trifle! Use any mix of fruit you like - Our family likes this combination, and we do use fresh fruit when in season.

Steps:
- In a large bowl, whip cream until stiff peaks form. Fold the mascarpone gently into the whipped cream, until well incorporated. Set aside.
- Place half of the strawberries into the blender pitcher. Blend until smooth. Mix the remaining whole berries with the pureed strawberries in a large bowl.
- Layer 1/3 of the angel food cake cubes in the bottom of a trifle or serving dish. Cover with 1/3 of the strawberries and blueberries and gently spoon 1/3 of the cream mixture over the fruit. Repeat the layers twice, ending with the cream mixture. Chill until ready to serve.
- When ready to serve, run a vegetable peeler over the edge of the dark chocolate bar, letting the curls fall onto the top of the dessert.

- Cut squares according to the size of your cups when both gelatins are completely set. You can use a utility knife and run it through the Jell-O, vertically and horizontally, to create the squares.
- Remove them delicately so they won't break. You can use a teaspoon, the tip of a butter knife, or even a spatula, if you want to lift more than one at a time.
