Easy chili with beans can be made as mild or spicy as desired. It's even better the next day.

Number Of Ingredients 15

2 pounds ground beef
1 onion, finely diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes with green chile peppers
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 cup water
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans
1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce

Steps:

  • In a large stock pot lightly brown ground beef, and drain if needed.
  • Add onion and garlic and cook until onion is translucent.
  • Add tomatoes, diced tomatoes with chile peppers, tomato sauce, water, kidney beans, pinto beans, chili powder, cumin, sugar, salt, pepper and hot sauce. Simmer for 30 minutes and then serve.

1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
2 to 3 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) Mexican stewed tomatoes
1 can (16 ounces) chili beans, undrained
1 cup frozen corn
Shredded cheddar cheese, optional

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, cook the beef, onion and green pepper over medium heat until the meat is no longer pink; drain. Add the next 6 ingredients; cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Serve with cheese if desired.

2 tablespoons olive oil
2 -4 garlic cloves, minced
2 onions
2 lbs ground beef, 90% lean
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon cumin
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 bay leaves
2 (15 ounce) cans red kidney beans, undrained
2 (16 ounce) cans chopped tomatoes, undrained
grated cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Saute onions in olive oil until translucent. add minced garlic and continue to saute until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  • In dutch oven, brown ground beef. Drain and add onions and garlic.
  • Add spices and tomatoes with juice -- DO NOT DRAIN. Heat to boiling and simmer for one hour.
  • Add beans (also DO NOT DRAIN) and heat through, approximately 20 minutes.
  • Top with cheese and serve with hot biscuits or corn bread.
  • If in a hurry, you can cook onions and garlic with the beef, and also add the kidney beans at the beginning and simmer the whole thing for as little as half an hour. It turns out fine, it's just that the flavor is not as developed.

My husband loves this recipe. It is so quick and simple, anybody can make it. If you cant find Ranch Style Beans, use chilli beans. We like to serve this along with Fritos and cheese for a Frito pie.

  • Brown beef along with the onion and garlic, then drain off fat.
  • Add the remaining ingredients.
  • Bring to a boil, lower heat and allow to simmer 10 minutes.

8 ounces tomato sauce
6 ounces tomato paste
10 1/2 ounces Campbell's French onion soup
1/4 cup diced red pepper
1/4 cup diced green pepper
1/2 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons sugar

Steps:

  • In a large heavy pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat breaking up any lumps with a fork. Cook until the meat is evenly browned.

1 pound ground beef
1 (12 ounce) sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon dried Mexican oregano
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 cup beer (preferably lager)
2 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained

Steps:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Saute ground beef and sirloin steak with onion and garlic in the hot skillet until beef is no longer pink, 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Sprinkle flour, chili powder, cumin, paprika, and oregano over meat mixture and cook for 3 minutes. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beer; bring to a fast simmer.
  • Reduce heat to low and cook for 15 to 20 minutes. Add kidney beans and continue to simmer until beans are heated through, 5 to 7 minutes.
