An easy graham cracker crust that you can make from scratch with only a few ingredients. Can be used for both baked AND no bake recipes!

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 cups graham cracker crumbs (approximately 14 full graham crackers)
⅓ cup light brown sugar
½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
Pinch salt

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, stir together the graham cracker crumbs, brown sugar, and salt, ensuring no lumps of brown sugar remain.
  • Drizzle the melted butter over the graham cracker mixture and toss to combine with a fork, ensuring that the mixture is evenly moistened.
  • Press the crust mixture evenly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate, 9-inch or 10-inch springform pan and pack tightly using the back of a measuring cup.
  • If using in a no-bake recipe, place the pan in the freezer for at least 15 minutes while you prepare the filling and proceed with the recipe.
  • If the graham cracker crust needs to be pre-baked, bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, then proceed with the recipe as written.

1-1/2 cups crushed graham cracker crumbs (24 squares)
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter, melted

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the crumbs and sugar; add butter and blend well. Press onto the bottom and up the sides of an ungreased 9-in. pie plate., Refrigerate for 30 minutes before filling, or bake at 375° until crust is lightly browned, 8-10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack before filling.

1/4 cup sugar
6 tablespoons melted butter

Steps:

  • Mix crumbs and sugar.
  • Add butter and mix well.
  • Pour into 9 or 10 inch pie pan.
  • Pat onto sides and bottom for firm crust.
  • Chill 45 minutes or bake at 375 degrees for 6 to 9 minutes.
  • (Baked comes out of pie pan for easiest serving.).

1 ½ cups finely ground graham cracker crumbs
⅓ cup white sugar
6 tablespoons butter, melted
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, melted butter or margarine, and cinnamon until well blended . Press mixture into an 8 or 9 inch pie plate.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 7 minutes. Cool. If recipe calls for unbaked pie shell, just chill for about 1 hour.

A sweet whole wheat cracker. These are very versatile. They can be eaten plain or used in recipes as whole crackers or just crumbs.

½ cup shortening
¾ cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ cup milk

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, cream together the shortening and brown sugar. Stir in the vanilla. Combine the whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt, stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Cover and chill dough until firm.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into rectangles. Place 1/2 inch apart onto the prepared cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until crisp. Edges will be golden brown. Remove from baking sheet to cool on wire racks.
