HOT MUSHROOM AND PEPPERONI PIZZA DIP



Hot Mushroom and Pepperoni Pizza Dip image

If you love pizza, and you love dip, then you are going fall in love with this pizza dip! This makes ALOT of dip - it serves at least 8 to 12. I made it this big so it resembles a pizza in size.

Number Of Ingredients 12

8 oz / 250g cream cheese (, at room temperature)
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 cup sour cream ((light or full fat))
1 cup pizza sauce ((see notes for fast homemade pizza sauce recipe))
1/2 cup pepperoni (, roughly diced)
1/3 cup onion (, diced (brown, white, yellow or red))
1/2 cup mushrooms (, roughly diced)
1 cup mozzarella cheese (, grated)
1/2 cup tasty cheese (, grated (or any other melting cheese with flavour) (see notes))
12 slices pepperoni
2 french sticks (, cut into slices)
2 cloves garlic (, halved (skin on))

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 180C/350F.
  • Heat a non stick fry pan over high heat.
  • Add the diced pepperoni and fry for 1 minute until it starts to brown.
  • Then add the onions and sauté for 1 minute. Then add the mushrooms and cook for 30 seconds.
  • Remove onion mixture from the fry pan and place onto a plate with a paper towel (to drain the excess fat).
  • Combine the Base ingredients in a bowl and mix until smooth and combined.
  • Spread the Base in a 20 cm / 8 inch base with a 24 cm / 9 inch rim pie dish.
  • Spread the pizza sauce over the Base, then sprinkle with the onion mixture.
  • Sprinkle over the tasty cheese, then the mozzarella cheese.
  • Place sliced pepperoni over the cheese.
  • Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling. Check it at 15 minutes.
  • Serve immediately with Garlic Toast.

This super easy and super cheesy dip is the perfect snack for game day or movie night with the family!

2 cups cream cheese, softened
2 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 teaspoons dried oregano
½ cup tomato sauce
12 slices pepperoni
1 package store bought pizza dough
½ stick unsalted butter
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon garlic powder
2 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Make the dip: In a medium bowl, combine the cream cheese, ½ cup (55 g) mozzarella, Parmesan, and lemon juice. Mix with an electric hand mixer until smooth. Stir in the salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and oregano.
  • Transfer the cream cheese mixture to a 9-inch (22 cm) pie dish and spread evenly. Top with the tomato sauce, then the remaining 2 cups (100 G) of mozzarella cheese. Finish with the pepperoni.
  • Bake the dip for 18-20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  • While the dip bakes, make the garlic knots: Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Unroll the pizza dough on a flat surface. Cut in half lengthwise, then crosswise 12 times so you have 24 small strips. Cover with a damp kitchen towel to keep from rising.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, salt, garlic powder, minced garlic, Parmesan, and parsley.
  • Tie each dough strip into a knot, then place on the prepared baking sheets. Brush generously with the garlic butter.
  • Bake the garlic knots for 10-12 minutes, until puffed and golden.
  • Serve the garlic knots warm with the pepperoni dip.
  • Enjoy!

1 can (15 ounces) pizza sauce
1 package (8 ounces) sliced pepperoni, chopped
1 can (3.8 ounces) chopped ripe olives, drained
2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
Bagel chips or garlic toast

Steps:

  • Place cream cheese in a 3-qt. slow cooker. Combine the pizza sauce, pepperoni and olives; pour over cream cheese. Top with mozzarella cheese., Cover and cook on low for 1-2 hours or until cheese is melted. Stir; serve warm with bagel chips or garlic toast.

  • Using a hand mixer, stand mixer with paddle attachment, or by hand with a rubber spatula: beat cream cheese, parsley/basil, garlic clove and 1 cup shredded mozzarella until combined. Spread into the bottom of the prepared pie dish.
  • Pour the pizza sauce over the cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle half the remaining shredded cheese over the sauce, then top with half the toppings. Add the remaining shredded cheese, then add the remaining toppings. You can either bake it now (then serve immediately), or you can cover it and refrigerate it for up to 4 hours.
  • Bake, uncovered, for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and warm throughout. While it's cooking, prepare garlic bread.
