Pineapple-Shaped Tea Sandwiches with Pineapple Filling image

These pineapple shaped sandwiches are filled with a delicious cream cheese and pineapple filling.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 8 oz. package cream cheese, softened
1 8 oz. can crushed pineapple, drained
1 Tablespoon pineapple juice
Whole Grain Bread (or bread of your choice)

Steps:

  • Combine all the ingredients together and mix well. Blend until smooth.
  • Spread pineapple filling on bread slices to make sandwiches.
  • Use a cookie cutter to cut out the sandwiches or slice off the crusts with a knife.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.

A great tea party needs two things: great friends and great food. These little sammies are so nice to serve. I love using my little silver multi-layer dishes to display everything I'm serving. These are pretty along side other tea sandwiches. Mighty tasty too!

Number Of Ingredients 6

3/4 cup soft butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon or 1 teaspoon nutmeg
20 slices bread, of your choice
1 1/2 cups soft cream cheese
1/2 cup pineapple, finely chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (for this recipe, I prefer walnuts)

Steps:

  • Combine the butter with cinnamon or nutmeg and spread the mixture over 1 side of each slice of bread.
  • In a small bowl, cream the cream cheese, if necessary, and stir in the pineapple and nuts.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over 10 slices of bread and top with the other 10 slices.
  • Remove the crusts and cut.

1 (6 ounce) can crushed pineapple (very well drained)
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 -2 stalk celery, chopped fine
1/4 cup nuts, chopped fine
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
6 -8 maraschino cherries, chopped

Steps:

  • Have cheese at room temperature.
  • Combine cheese, sugar and mayonnaise and mix well with mixer.
  • Mix in rest of ingredients by hand.
  • Place in refrigerator awhile until firm. Spread on bread of your choice.
  • Cut off crusts; and cut bread into shapes of your choice.

4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
2 tablespoons apricot preserves
sliced ham
4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
3/4 cup crushed pineapple, drained
1/3 cup chopped pecans, toasted
1 1/2 cups shredded or chopped chicken
3/4 cup mayonnaise (or more if needed)
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/3 cup celery, diced
1/3 cup slivered almonds, lightly toasted

Steps:

  • For the chicken sandwiches, Chop chicken very finely (I put it in a food processor and pulsed 3-4 times until minced). In a bowl, combine chicken and mayonnaise, and mix well. Add curry and continue to mix. Fold in remaining ingredients. Spread on bread, top with another slice, remove crusts, and cut into shapes.
  • For the pineapple sandwiches, Combine cream cheese and crushed pineapple until well blended. Add pecans and fold into mixture. Spread on one slice of bread and top with other. Remove crusts and cut into shapes as desired.
  • For ham sandwiches, Combine cream cheese and preserves until well blended. Spread a layer on both slices of bread, place a slice of ham on one side, and top with the other side. Cut off crusts and cut in to shapes as desired.

1/4 cup orange juice, plus
2 tablespoons orange juice
3/4 cup chopped raisins
24 slices nut bread (thin slices)

Steps:

  • Blend the cream cheese with an electric mixer on slow speed for about 1 minute to soften it up.
  • Add the orange juice and raisins to the cream cheese and stir with a spoon to mix.
  • Spread the cream cheese spread on 24 thin nutbread slices to make 12 sandwiches.
  • Make two diagonal slices across each sandwich to make 4 triangular sandwiches.
  • You can trim the breadcrusts off the sandwiches if you like.

1 (8) oz can crushed pineapple,drained
1/2 c sugar
1 c chopped pecans
1 loaf white sandwich bread

Steps:

  • 1. Combine the softened cream cheese and pineapple. Add the sugar and the pecans to this mixture. Trim the crust from the bread slices. Spread the cheese mixture on the bread slices and make into sandwiches. Place the sandwiches on a tray and cover with plastic wrap. Chill
  • 2. When you are ready to serve, cut the sandwiches into thin slices about 1 inch in width and place on a decorative tray.
