1/2 lb bacon (chopped)
1 green pepper (seeded, chopped)
1 onion (minced)
1 small cabbage (shredded)
3 carrots (peeled, julienned)
2 garlic cloves (minced)
1 lb leftover roast pork (chopped)
2 cups cold cooked rice
1 cup frozen peas (thawed)
1/2 cup soy sauce

Steps:

  • In a wok fry bacon until crisp. Drain well.
  • Re-heat wok.
  • Add the pepper, onion, cabbage, carrots and garlic. Stir-fry 3 minutes.
  • Add pork. Cook 1 minute.
  • Add rice. Cook 1 minute.
  • stir in peas and soy sauce. Cook 30 seconds.

4 tablespoons vegetables or 4 tablespoons corn oil
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1/4 cup minced shallot
4 cups hot cooked rice
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon salt (MSG) or 1 tablespoon Accent seasoning (MSG)
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

Steps:

  • In a wok or frying pan, heat oil and fry garlic until light brown. Add shallots, rice, soy sauce, salt and pepper.
  • Stir the mixture constantly to prevent it from sticking to the pan and to ensure even cooking.
  • Cook and continue stirring for 10 minutes. Serve hot.

I've posted a lot of fried rice recipes but I have not posted one from my country. This fried rice recipe is very close to my heart, and I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I do.

3 cups left-over cooked rice
2 Chinese sausage, sliced
1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/4 cup chopped ham
1/4 cup chopped shrimp
3 eggs, beaten and lightly seasoned with
salt and pepper
2 tablespoons oil
green onion, finely chopped

Steps:

  • In a hot pan, pour the oil, and make an omelet. Slice in thin shreds then set aside.
  • In the same pan, fry Chinese sausages until crisp. Reduce the oil in half (or less if you prefer).
  • Saute garlic, onion, and rice. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir-fry for 15-20 minutes until rice is cooked and evenly coated with soy sauce.
  • Garnish with scrambled egg shreds and green onions.

This Filipino recipe is normally served at breakfast. Quick and easy to make, this recipe will make everyone's day a great one.

4 large eggs
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
9 garlic cloves, peeled and chopped or 3 tablespoons garlic, minced
4 cups cooked rice, chilled (made at least a day previous)
2 tablespoons soy sauce (optional)
4 green onions, white and green parts finely chopped
salt and pepper, as needed

Steps:

  • Whisk eggs with 1 tbsp water in small bowl.
  • Coat wok or large skillet with cooking spray, and heat over medium-high heat. Add eggs, tilting to coat bottom of pan, and cook 3 to 5 minutes (like an omelet), or until firm and set.
  • Transfer eggs to cutting board, and cut into 2 inch strips.
  • Add oil to pan, and increase heat to medium. Stir in chopped garlic, and cook 3 to 5 minutes, or until browned, stirring often.
  • Add rice, increase heat to high, and cook 3 to 4 minutes, or until rice begins to brown. Stir in the soy sauce and season with salt and pepper, if desired. Stir in green onions, then eggs.
