Perini Ranch Steak Rub image

A Texas-style steak rub worth committing to memory! Easy-to-find spices combine to add fantastic flavor to any steak, while helping to seal in the natural juices. From the Texas Beef Council.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 teaspoons cornstarch or 2 teaspoons flour
2 teaspoons salt or 2 teaspoons salt substitute
5 tablespoons coarse-ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon oregano
4 teaspoons garlic powder
4 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon beef stock (granulated)

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together.
  • Either sprinkle or rub into meat before cooking.
  • Store in a covered container.

This was published in their cookbook as well as Southern Living I believe. Keep it on hand not only for steaks but for sauteed mushrooms( another recipe to post)

2 tsp corn starch or flour
2 tsp salt
2 Tbsp coarse ground pepper
1/2 tsp oregano, dried
1/2 tsp lemon pepper
4 tsp garlic power
4 tsp onion power
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp beef stock base - granulated

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients together. Either sprinkle or rub into meat. Allow to sit in the refrigerator at least 15 minutes before cooking.
  • 2. Place steaks on hot coals (mesquite is best). Baste with butter or margarine while grilling (optional). Cook 10 to 15 minutes each side for medium rare.
