Garlic Penne Pasta image

This recipe is so easy to make, tastes great and is a big hit at dinner time. It's even a hit as leftovers! It uses simple ingredients that you always have on hand and you can replace the penne with any pasta you want.

1 (16 ounce) package penne pasta
¼ cup olive oil, divided
3 cloves garlic, chopped
2 sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente. Drain, and return to pot.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Saute garlic, sun-dried tomatoes and parsley for about 1 minute. Season with red pepper flakes and black pepper. Stir into cooked pasta, along with remaining olive oil. Top with Parmesan.

8 rebanadas de tocino (tocineta) de corte central OSCAR MAYER Center Cut Bacon
1 libra de carne extramagra molida de res
3 tazas de champiñones (hongos) frescos, cortados en cuartos
1 cebolla grande, picada
2 dientes de ajo, bien picados
2 latas (14.5 oz cada uno) de tomates en cubitos sin sal agregada, sin escurrir
1 frasco (24 oz) de salsa para espagueti
1-1/2 taza de agua
3 tazas de pasta penne, sin cocer
1 taza de queso colby y monterrey desmenuzado KRAFT Shredded Colby & Monterey Jack Cheese
1/4 taza de perejil fresco picado

Steps:

  • Cocina el tocino en una sartén grande y profunda hasta que esté crujiente; sácalo de la sartén. Escúrrelo sobre papel toalla. Desecha la grasa que quede en la sartén. Añade la carne molida de res, los hongos, la cebolla y el ajo a la sartén; cocina todo hasta que la carne esté dorada, revolviendo de vez en cuando.
  • Desmenuza el tocino. Añade la mitad del tocino a la mezcla de carne en la sartén junto con los tomates, la salsa para espagueti y el agua; mezcla todo bien. Tapa la sartén; deja que la mezcla hierva.
  • Incorpora la pasta; cocina esto tapado, manteniendo un hervor suave a fuego medio-bajo 20 min. o hasta que la pasta esté blanda, revolviendo de vez en cuando. Sácala del fuego.
  • Ponle encima el queso y el tocino restante. Déjala reposar, tapada, 5 min. o hasta que el queso se derrita. Espolvoréala con el perejil.
