1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
140 g butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
3 medium eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup nutella, approx

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 160°C.
  • Line 12 muffin tins with cupcake or muffin liners.
  • Sift together the flour, salt and baking powder in a medium bowl. Leave aside.
  • Cream together the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl till texture is light.
  • Add in the eggs, one at a time till fully incorporated.
  • Add in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add in the dry ingredients into the wet mix till well-mixed.
  • Fill up each liner with batter till about 3/4 full.
  • Top up each cupcake with approximately 1 tbsp of nutella. Use a toothpick to swirl the nutella into the batter.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or till a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
  • Remove individual cupcakes to cool completely on a wire rack before storing.

1/2 cup warm water
1 (1/4 ounce) package active dry yeast
4 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups all-purpose flour, divided
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup nutella, warmed slightly (see instructions)
2 tablespoons water, for brushing
cooking spray

Steps:

  • In large bowl, with electric mixer, stir 1/2 cup warm water, yeast, 2 TBSP sugar and 1/4 tsp salt.
  • Add 1 cup flour and the butter; mix on medium speed for 4 minutes.
  • Add remaining 2 cups flour; mix for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Grease a large bowl with non stick spray or butter and place the dough on it, turning it once.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and let stand for 1 hour in a warm place until it doubles in volume.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Line baking sheet w/ aluminum foil or parchment paper.
  • When the dough has fully risen, punch it down and transfer to a floured surface.
  • Roll the dough out to a 12x16 inch rectangle and spread evenly with the warmed Nutella, leaving a 1 inch band around the edge, bare.
  • Beginning at the long end, tightly roll up the dough like a newspaper, forming a 16 inch long log.
  • Brush the ends with a little water and bring them together to form a ring.
  • Transfer ring to prepared baking sheet.
  • Using a sharp knife, sprayed with non stick cooking spray, slice the ring into 12 individual buns- being sure not to cut all the way through so that the buns are still connected, allowing 1 inch between each slice.
  • Gently separate them, so they rest against each other like dominoes.
  • Brush the ring with 2 TBSP water and sprinkle with remaining 2 TBSP sugar.
  • Bake for 35-45 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

  • In microwave, heat on high for 5 seconds in a microwavable bowl.

10 tablespoons butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
3 large eggs, at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 3/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
12 teaspoons nutella (1 teaspoon for each cupcakes)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F Line 12 muffin tins with paper liners.
  • Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy,about 2 minutes. Add in eggs one at a time, until fully incorporated. Don't worry if the batter doesn't look smooth. Add vanilla. Stir in flour, salt and baking powder until batter is uniform and no flour remains.
  • Using an ice cream scoop or spoon , fill each muffin liner with batter. They should be 3/4 full, if you're not using a scoop. Top each cake with 1 heaping teaspoon of Nutella. Swirl Nutella in with a toothpick, making sure to fold a bit of batter up over the nutella.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean.
  • Remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
