NONNA GIULIA'S PIZZA DOUGH

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon fresh yeast, crumbled
3/4 cup white wine
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups lukewarm water

Steps:

  • Mound the flour on a smooth work surface, and create a well in the middle of the flour. Break up the cubes of yeast with your hands and add it to the well, along with the white wine, olive oil and a portion of salted lukewarm water. Work the flour slowly, adding the rest of the salted lukewarm water as needed until it turns into a uniform dough. Cover the dough and let rest to rise for about 20 to 30 minutes at room temperature.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 tablespoon(s) brewer's yeast
1 tablespoon(s) sugar
1/2 cup(s) warm water
1 pinch(es) salt
1 teaspoon(s) olive oil
1/2 cup(s) marinara sauce
1/4 cup(s) thin sliced green bell pepper
1/4 cup(s) thin sliced red or white onion
1/4 cup(s) cooked italian sausage
1 cup(s) mixed cheeses (i use grated parm/cheddar and fontina)
1 1/2 cup(s) all purpose flour

Steps:

  • In large mixing bowl combine yeast and sugar and warm water. Let sit for 3 minutes then add olive oil and flour and mix to form dough. Cover lightly with towel and set aside.
  • Thin chop vegetables and grate cheeses. Remove dough from bowl and shape on baking stone or pizza pan into 12-14 inch circle. Stretch dough thin for a crisper crust.
  • Top dough circle with marinara sauce/veggies and meat then top this with cheeses. Can sprinkle a dash of garic/basil or oregano on top for extra flavor. Bake for 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees. Crust will rise and cheese will bubble and turn golden. Enjoy!
