PEAR CRUMBLE
ORIGINALLY a pear crumble pie, I shortened this to a crumble when I often was too short of time to make a pie crust. I've also found canned pears work as well as fresh, so that makes it even easier to prepare. -Kezia Sullivan, Sackets Harbor, New York

Steps:
- Place pear slices in a greased 1-qt. baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice. In a large bowl, combine the sugar, oats, flour, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. , Cut in butter until crumbly; add nuts. Sprinkle over pears. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly.

NO-FUSS PEAR CRUMBLE
I made this after finding pears on sale at my local market. I can't remember exactly how long I baked it for, but I would guess about 20 minutes to a half hour.

Steps:
- Pre-heat oven to 375 F degrees.
- Mix pears with some ground ginger or cinnamon.
- Place in a greased pie plate.
- Mix together remaining ingredients and spread over the pears.
- Bake until golden brown and heated through.
- Serve with a dollop of fresh cream or a scoop of ice cream.

- Arrange the pears, cut side up, on one of the baking sheets. Brush with 1 tablespoon of the melted butter and bake until tender, about 30 minutes. Let cool slightly.
- While the pears are baking, toss together the pecans, oats, brown sugar and salt in a small bowl. Drizzle with the remaining 3 tablespoons melted butter and stir to combine. Spread the crumb topping on the second baking sheet and bake until golden, 10 to 15 minutes. Let cool slightly.
