This makes a ton of baked beans great for picnics and parties. Delicious smoky flavor that's sweet and spicy.

2 can(s) 16 oz. bush's baked beans undrained
2 can(s) 15 oz cans pork and beans undrained
1 can(s) 15 oz black beans drained
1 can(s) 15 oz jar great northern bean drained
1 can(s) 15 oz cannellini beans drained
1 medium onion diced
4 jalapenos seeded and chopped
6 clove(s) garlic minced
1 pound(s) bacon diced
2 cup(s) ketchup
1/4 cup(s) yellow mustard
2 cup(s) brown sugar
1 tablespoon(s) each salt, cumin, paprika, and liquid smoke
3 tablespoon(s) apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoon(s) hot sauce

Steps:

  • Place the beans in a slow cooker. Cook the diced bacon until crisp and add them to the slow cooker. Cook the onion, jalapeno's and garlic in the bacon grease and pour into the slow cooker.
  • Mix the remaining ingredients together and pour over the beans in the slow cooker. Stir well and cook on low for 8 hours. Taste and adjust seasonings.

Four different kinds of beans baked with molasses. I have substituted different kinds of beans and enjoyed all of the results. Use whatever kind of beans you like! I have also used Canadian bacon instead of regular bacon.

1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
1 (15 ounce) can butter beans, drained
1 (15 ounce) can lima beans, drained
1 (16 ounce) can pork and beans, drained
½ pound bacon, cut into small pieces
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
¾ cup brown sugar
½ cup ketchup
½ cup vinegar
¼ cup molasses
1 teaspoon dry mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Place kidney beans, butter beans, lima beans, and pork and beans in a 2-quart casserole dish.
  • Heat a saucepan over medium heat; cook and stir bacon, onion, and garlic until bacon is browned, about 10 minutes. Pour off excess fat.
  • Whisk brown sugar, ketchup, vinegar, molasses, and mustard into bacon mixture; simmer until cooked through, about 20 minutes. Pour sauce over beans in the casserole dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until bubbling, 1 hour 15 minutes.

1 pound dried navy beans
2 cups water
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup molasses
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 teaspoons ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke, optional
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Steps:

  • Sort beans and rinse in cold water. Place beans in a large bowl; add enough water to cover by 2 in. Let stand, covered, overnight., Drain and rinse beans, discarding liquid. Transfer beans to a greased 3-qt. slow cooker. In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Stir into slow cooker., Cook, covered, on low 9-10 hours or until beans are tender. Freeze option: Freeze cooled beans in freezer containers. To use, partially thaw in refrigerator overnight. Heat through in a saucepan, stirring occasionally; add water if necessary.

1 pound dried pinto beans
1/4 cup sliced onions
8 cups water
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon chicken bouillon granules
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
Fresh thyme sprigs , optional

Steps:

  • Sort beans and rinse in cold water. Add beans to a greased 3-qt. slow cooker. Add the next 10 ingredients; stir., Cook, covered, on high 2 hours. 1 (15 1/2 ounce) can garbanzo beans
1 (15 1/2 ounce) can wax beans
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can chopped tomatoes
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can vegetable broth
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup molasses
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons ground pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F.

1 ½ cups ketchup
1 ½ cups water
¼ cup molasses
1 large onion, chopped
1 tablespoon dry mustard

1 cup brown sugar

Steps:

  • Drain soaking liquid from beans, and place them in a Slow Cooker.
  • Stir ketchup, water, molasses, onion, mustard, salt, bacon, and brown sugar into the beans until well mixed.
