This is an old recipe my mom found out of a magazine years ago and cut it out to keep. She wrote "good" on it, so I figure it was worth keeping around all these years!

Number Of Ingredients 8

Ingredients

1 cup peanut butter
6 tablespoons butter, softened
1 1/4 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
11 1/2 ounces chocolate chips, divided

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Beat peanut butter & butter together until smooth, about 1 minute.
Add suar, eggs and vanilla, beat until creamy.
Blend in flour and salt.
Stir in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
Spread into ungreased 13x9" baking pan.
Bake 25-30 minutes until edges begin to brown.
Take out of oven and immediately sprinkle remaining chocolate chips over cookie layer, let stand 5 minutes.
Once chips are shiny and soft, spread evenly over whole cookie layer.
Cool completely & cut into 1 1/2 inch bars.

1 cup peanut butter
6 tablespoons margarine, softened
1 1/4 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups chocolate chips

Steps:

In large mixing bowl beat peanut butter and margarine until smooth.
Add sugar, eggs and vanilla;beat until creamy.
Blend in flour and salt.
Stir in 1 c chocolate morsels.
Spread into ungreased 13 x 9 pan.
Bake @ 350 degrees 25-30 minutes -- or until edges begin to brown.
Immediately sprinkle with remaining chocolate morsels.
Let stand 5 minutes or until soft and shiny.
Spread evenly over top.
Cool completely.
Cut into bars.

This recipe is from my mom. It is a Nestle Toll House recipe from way back in the early 70's.

1 c peanut butter
6 Tbsp butter, softened
1 1/4 c sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 c all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 c milk chocolate chips

Steps:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In a large mixer bowl, beat peanut butter and butter until smooth.
3. Add sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat until creamy.
4. Blend in flour and salt. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips.
5. Spread into un-greased 9x13 baking pan. Bake 25-30 minutes or until edges begin to brown.
6. Immediately sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips. Let stand 5 minutes until morsels become soft and shiny. Spread morsels evenly over top. Cool completely. Cut and enjoy!

In a medium saucepan over medium/medium-high heat, combine sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Bring to a boil. Let boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter until silky smooth.
Pour hot mixture over cereal and gently fold to incorporate evenly. Using a spatula, press down on the coated cereal, firmly but gently, until even. Let cool.FOR THE CHOCOLATE FROSTING
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips and peanut butter. Heat the chocolate as gently as possible, stirring regularly, and taking care to not let the chocolate scorch. When the chips are almost melted, remove pan from heat and stir until completely smooth.

In a food processor, add the oreos and pulse until a fine crumble forms. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a microwave-safe dish, then add it to the oreo crumbles and pulse for several more seconds until combined. Press mixture into the bottom of the pan in an even layer.
In a large, microwave-safe dish, add 5 tablespoons of butter and the peanut butter. Melt in 30-second increments until melted and smooth. Stir in the brown sugar and powdered sugar, then press into the pan on top of the oreo base.
