It's just not a party without wings. Give these Tex-Mex chicken wings a try, using Old El Paso™ chicken taco seasoning mix and a green hot sauce-ranch mixture for dipping. Game day has never tasted so good.

1/2 cup ranch dressing
1 tablespoon green hot sauce
1/3 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
2 packages (0.85 oz each) Old El Paso™ chicken taco seasoning mix
3 lb chicken wingettes and drummettes, patted dry
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh cilantro leaves, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 425°F. Line 18x12-inch rimmed sheet pan with foil. Place rack on top of foil. Spray rack and foil generously with cooking spray. In small bowl, stir together ranch dressing and hot sauce; cover and refrigerate.
  • In gallon-size resealable food-storage plastic bag, mix flour and taco seasoning mixes. Add chicken to bag; seal, and shake to coat chicken. Place in single layer on rack. Discard any remaining flour mixture. Brush both sides of chicken with melted butter.
  • Bake 25 minutes. Turn chicken. Bake 18 to 22 minutes longer or until juice of chicken is clear when thickest part is cut to bone (at least 165°F). Transfer to serving platter, and sprinkle with cilantro. Serve with dressing.

1 cup purchased ranch salad dressing
1 (4.5-oz.) can Old El Paso™ Chopped Green Chiles
1/2 cup Pillsbury BEST® All-Purpose Flour
1 (1-oz.) pkg. Old El Paso™ Taco Seasoning Mix
2 teaspoons oil
24 chicken drummettes or chicken wings (about 2 lb.)
Dried parsley flakes

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray large cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray or line with foil. In blender container, combine salad dressing and chiles; cover and blend until smooth. Spoon into small serving bowl. Refrigerate while making drummettes.
  • In shallow dish, combine flour and taco seasoning mix; mix well. Stir in oil with fork until well blended. Coat drummettes with flour mixture. Coat drummettes again to use up flour mixture. Place on sprayed cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350°F. for 15 minutes. Turn drummettes; bake an additional 14 to 17 minutes or until chicken is fork-tender and juices run clear. Sprinkle parsley flakes on salad dressing mixture; serve as dip with warm drummettes.

Number Of Ingredients 6

12 whole chicken wings (about 2 pounds)
3/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • Cut chicken wings into three sections; discard wing tips. In a bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Set aside 1/4 cup for basting; cover and refrigerate. Place the wings in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow glass bowl. Pour the remaining marinade over wings; turn to coat. Seal or cover and refrigerate overnight. Drain and discard marinade. Place the wings in a shallow baking pan. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 1 hour, brushing several times with reserved soy sauce mixture during the last 30 minutes of baking. Refrigerate any leftovers.

1/2 cup flour
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
2 teaspoons oil
24 chicken drummettes (about 2 lbs)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350.
  • Spray a large cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a blender combine ranch dressing and chiles.
  • Process until smooth.
  • Place in a container and refrigerate while you prepare the drumettes.
  • Combine flour and taco seasonings in a shallow dish.
  • Add oil and stir until well combined.
  • Coat chicken with mixture, recoat until you have used up all of the flour mixture.
  • Place in single layer on cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, turn and bake an additional 17 minutes.
  • Serve dressing as dipping sauce for warm drumettes.

12 whole chicken wings (about 2-1/2 pounds)
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cornmeal
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1-1/2 teaspoons pepper
3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
JALAPENO-CILANTRO DIP:
2-1/2 cups sour cream
3 cups fresh cilantro leaves
6 green onions, cut into 3-inch pieces
4 jalapeno peppers, seeded
3 teaspoons salt

Steps:

  • Cut chicken wings into 3 sections; discard wing tip section. In a large bowl or shallow dish, combine the flour, cornmeal, cumin, salt, pepper and cayenne. Add the chicken wings, a few at a time. Turn to coat. , Transfer to a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 25-27 minutes on each side or until juices run clear and coating is set., Meanwhile, in a blender, combine the dip ingredients; cover and process until blended. 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle chile sauce
¼ cup fresh lemon juice
¼ cup molasses
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 drops hot pepper sauce
1 tablespoon salsa
2 ½ teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons salt

Steps:

  • Place chicken in slow cooker. In a medium bowl combine the chile sauce, lemon juice, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, salsa, chili powder, garlic powder and salt. Mix together and pour mixture over chicken.
  • Cook in slow cooker on Medium Low setting for 5 hours.
