Number Of Ingredients 10

3 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup cold butter, cubed
1 large egg, room temperature
1 cup vanilla yogurt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons milk
Sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in egg, yogurt and vanilla just until combined. Turn onto a floured surface; knead 6-8 times., Roll into a 9-in. circle; cut into eight wedges. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Brush tops with milk; sprinkle with sugar. , Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.

These beautiful fluffy golden scone wedges can be eaten with any meal.

3 c all purpose flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 c cold butter
1 egg
1 c vanilla yogurt
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp milk
sugar, to sprinkle on top

Steps:

  • 1. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in egg, yogurt and vanilla just until combined.
  • 2. Turn onto a floured surface; knead 6 to 8 times. Roll into a 9-inch circle; cut into eight wedges. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Brush tops with milk; sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 425F for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm. 8 scones.

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  • Mix flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Add butter and mix with fingers until coarse crumbs form. Gently mix yogurt, egg, and vanilla extract into flour mixture until dough is just combined.
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead briefly, for five or six turns. Pat or roll the dough out into a 1-inch thick round. Cut into 8 wedges and place onto the prepared baking sheet. Brush each wedge with milk and sprinkle with remaining 1 tablespoon sugar.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned, about 15 minutes. Serve warm or cool completely and store in an airtight container.
