Now that the weather is warmer, it's time to roll up your sleeves and make this flavor-packed, simple rib recipe.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 ½ of pounds pork ribs, flanken style
of Sesame seeds and thinly sliced scallions for garnish
1 cup of soy sauce
1 cup of water
2 tablespoons of rice wine vinegar
¼ cup of brown sugar
2 tablespoons of sesame oil
5 of cloves garlic, minced

Steps:

  • Combine marinade ingredients. In a plastic bag or sealable plastic container, pour marinade over the ribs. Refrigerate overnight.
  • Gradually preheat griddle to medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes. Spray with cooking spray. Cook in batches, 5-7 minutes per side.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and scallions. Serve immediately.

3 tablespoons sesame oil
2 teaspoons rice wine vinegar
3 tablespoons dark soy sauce
4 tablespoons honey
30 mL bourbon whiskey
15 mL fresh lime juice
4 medium cloves garlic cloves, finely chopped
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
4 tablespoons dark muscovado sugar
1 teaspoon red chili flakes
2 teaspoons corn flour
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
1 whole rack of pork ribs
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon pepper
1 tablespoon dark muscovado sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 150 degrees celsius.
  • Mix together the salt, pepper and sugar for the rub and apply liberally over the ribs.
  • Wrap entirely in foil and bake in the oven for 2 hours at 150 degrees celsius / 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a saucepan, combine all of the sauce ingredients and bring to a boil then immediately reduce the heat until the sauce thickens and then set aside.
  • Remove the ribs from the oven and unwrap from the foil. Brush a generous amount of the BBQ sauce over both sides of the ribs and place back in the oven for a further 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven, brush more bbq sauce on and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Enjoy!

  • Heat a 10.25 Inch Cast Iron Skillet over medium high heat. Add sesame oil, pork, garlic, and ginger. Cook until pork is fully browned. Add soy sauce, honey, BBQ sauce, and gochujang. Stir and remove from heat. Keep warm.
  • In a mixing bowl, place the Martha White Cornbread Mix, baking powder, salt, red pepper flakes, heavy cream, and cilantro. Crack two of the eggs, add the yolks to the bowl and reserve the whites. Stir to combine.
  • Add the four egg whites to a mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until eggs are light and fluffy. Fold egg whites into cornbread mixture.
  • Set the Lodge Cast Iron Aebleskiver Pan over medium heat. Brush the wells and surface with melted butter. Pour cornbread mixture into the wells, filling them ¾ full. Place about a teaspoon of queso fresco crumbles into the middle of each well and push down slightly. It's okay if the batter runs over the edges of the wells.
