S'MORE POPS

S'more Pops image

My daughters and I came up with this treat when planning a candy-making party. The pops also make adorable hostess gifts, are perfect for potlucks and would sell out quickly at a bake sale. -Lisa Haboush, Geneva, Illinois

S'MORES ON A LOLLIPOP STICK

S'mores on a Lollipop Stick image

A fun way to get your s'mores fix...eat them lollipop style. I've been making up batches of these for years for the neighborhood kids at Christmas time and my 10-year old GD puts these up herself for friends.

Provided by Julie Bs Hive

Categories     Candy

Time 35m

Yield 40 sticks

Number Of Ingredients 4

40 lollipop sticks
40 large marshmallows, 1 10-oz bag
1 1/2 cups crushed graham crackers
1 (1 lb) bag chocolate-flavored candy coating

Steps:

  • While melting chocolate (either in the microwave or in a chocolate pot) poke a lollipop stick into each of the marshmallows and set aside.
  • Crush the graham crackers finely and set in a shallow bowl. you can use the pre-made crumbs but I find there's a difference in taste and texture.).
  • When chocolate is ready dip one the marshmallow sticks into the hot chocolate just enough to coat and immediately roll in graham cracker crumbs. Repeat with each marshmallow until all are done. When sufficiently dry place each in a food-safe baggie (check out A.C.Moore's candy supplies) and tie with a colorful ribbon.
  • I pack mine up in altered paint cans so get your creative juices flowing and find a container you can personalize that shows off your talents.
  • Kids love to make -and eat- them!

  • Begin by twisting the lollipop sticks until they are securely in the middle of the marshmallows. (Insert them on the flat, not rounded, side of the marshmallows. Then push them in until they almost poke through.)
  • Place the graham crackers in a strong ziplock bag, and use a rolling pin (or whatever you’d like) to crush them until they are finely crumbled. Transfer the graham cracker crumbs to a small bowl.
  • Heat the chocolate chips in a double-boiler or (carefully!) in the microwave until they are melted.*
  • While holding the stick, carefully dip a marshmallow in the chocolate mixture until it is completely covered. Then gently roll the sides and top of the marshmallow in the graham cracker crumbs until they are well-coated. Place on a plate or on wax paper to let cool and dry. Repeat with remaining marshmallows.
