This is the fudge sauce from my ice cream pie recipe (#7549). It is so rich and wonderful I decided it deserved being posted by itself. I could drink it, it's that good! Makes a great sauce for dipping bananas, brownies or for pouring over ice cream (of course!) Store any left-overs (ha!) in the fridge and reheat in the microwave for about 20 seconds.

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (I use Ghirardelli)
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup heavy cream (whipping cream)
1 tablespoon coffee-flavored liqueur

Steps:

  • Over a double boiler* on low heat, combine chocolate chips, heavy cream, and butter.
  • Stir until chips are melted and mixture is smooth.
  • Remove from heat, stir in coffee liqueur.
  • Serve warm.
  • *Can also be melted in the microwave on a low temperature, stirring occasionally and being sure not to burn the chocolate.

1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs (about 6 1/2 ounces)
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons Kahlua
1 quart chocolate ice cream
1 pint coffee ice cream
4 tablespoons Kahlua
4 to 6 heath bars, crushed in food processor or with mallet
8 ounces of chopped semisweet chocolate
2 tablespoons, plus 1 teaspoon butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup hot water
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pinch of salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients in medium bowl. Press crust mixture onto bottom of 9-inch spring form pan with 2 3/4 inches high on the sides. Bake crust until firm, about 8 minutes. Transfer pan to rack and cool crust completely.
  • Mix ice cream, kahlua in large bowl. Mix in heath bars, saving several tablespoons for garnish. Pour ice cream into crust, smooth top, freeze until firm, about four hours. Can be prepared 2 days ahead covered.
  • Using small knife cut around side of pan to loosen torte. Remove pan sides, sprinkle saved crushed heath bar on top. Let torte stand 3 to 5 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve with hot fudge sauce.
  • Combine chopped dark chocolate with butter, sugar, heavy cream, and hot water. Melt mixture stirring, at low heat for five minutes. Remove from heat, add vanilla and salt and serve warm.

1 (14 ounce) can low fat sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup boiling water
6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon instant espresso (or 2 tsp. instant coffee granules)
3 tablespoons Kahlua

Steps:

  • Place milk in a small saucepan; cook 5 minutes over low heat. Combine water, cocoa and espresso in a small bowl; stirring until granules dissolve. Stir cocoa mixture into milk; cook 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in liqueur; cook 1 minute. Remove from heat. Serve warm or chilled.

1 teaspoon plus 2 tablespoons butter, divided
24 ounces Baker's white baking chocolate, coarsely chopped
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
1/3 cup Kahlua (coffee liqueur)

Steps:

  • Line a 9-in. square pan with foil; grease foil with 1 teaspoon butter. In a large heavy saucepan, cook and stir white chocolate over low heat until melted. Add milk and remaining butter; stir until blended. Remove from heat; stir in pecans and Kahlua., Spread into prepared pan. Refrigerate, covered, 2 hours or until firm. Remove foil; cut fudge into 1-in. squares. Store between layers of waxed paper in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

  • Open your unshaken can of coconut milk (refrigerated or not) and use a spoon to scrape off the top layer of thick cream, reserving the watery, liquid portion for smoothies or other uses.
  • Add cream to a sauce pan over medium-high heat and add cocoa powder. Whisk to combine and cook for a few minutes. Add sugar and salt and whisk - cook until warm and bubbly - 5 minutes. Reduce the heat if you see it getting too bubbly.
  • Remove from heat and add vanilla and Kahlua and whisk to combine. Taste and adjust flavors as needed. You may prefer more Kahlua or vanilla than I did.
  • Transfer to a clean glass jar or bowl to let cool. Once room temperature, cover and refrigerate. Will keep for a couple weeks. Either reheat in the microwave before serving, or warm in a saucepan of simmering water.
