4 Large Eggs
2c buttermilk, room temp is best, or 1c milk + 1c sour cream
2c flour
1t baking soda
1t baking powder
1t salt
2 sticks melted unsalted butter

Steps:

  • -Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. -Beat eggs in separate lg bowl till frothy -Add dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately to eggs starting and ending with dry ingredients. 1/3 at a time. -Mix in melted butter - Be gentle, I use a whisk for this, but don't beat this batter hard _Use 1/2 cup for most waffle makers

My Favorite Waffles image

This recipe was printed in a Heloise column in our local newspaper several years ago. The waffles are light and crispy and they freeze well.

2 cups Bisquick
1 egg
1/2 cup oil
1 1/2 cups club soda

Steps:

  • Combine ingredients and blend with large spoon being careful not to over mix. Add to hot waffle iron and when done, you will have light and fluffy waffle. REMEMBER, waffles need to be cooked ASAP - don't let the batter sit or it will go flat.

Every Sunday morning, my mom and I used to get up early and make these wonderful waffles. This recipe has been in the family for years, and I will definitly be passing it down to my children.

1 1/3 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 eggs, separated
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 3/4 cups milk

Steps:

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients.
  • Separate the eggs, adding the yolks to the dry ingredient mixture, and placing the whites in a small mixing bowl.
  • Beat whites until moderately stiff; set aside.
  • Add milk and melted butter to dry ingredient mixture and blend.
  • Fold stiff egg whites into mixture.
  • Ladle mixture into hot waffle iron and bake.
