COPYCAT HONEY BAKED HAM
For holidays and special occasions my family loves a good old fashioned baked ham. One year I decided to see if I could duplicate the crunchy glaze on a Honey Baked Ham. After tweaking it a couple times I have developed a pretty good imitation. It is delicious. I get asked to make ham to take to pot lucks and parties because everyone likes my version so well. The best part is that it is really easy. If you have a kitchen torch you can torch the sugar instead of broiling it. That method is just as easy. -Donna Gribbins, Shelbyville, Kentucky

Steps:
- Place ham and water in a 7-qt. slow cooker. Brush ham with 1/2 cup honey. Cook, covered, on low until a thermometer reads 140°, 4 to 5 hours., Preheat broiler. Combine glaze ingredients. Transfer ham to a rack in a shallow roasting pan, cut side down. Brush with remaining 1/4 cup honey; sprinkle with glaze mixture, pressing to adhere. Broil 6-8 in. from heat until lightly browned and sugar is melted, 3-5 minutes, rotating as needed. Cover with foil; let stand until glaze hardens, about 30 minutes.
