HOLIDAY APPETIZER MEATBALLS

Steps:
- In a small bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into 1-in. balls. , In a large skillet over medium heat, brown meatballs; drain. Place in a 2-1/2-qt. baking dish. Combine the sauce ingredients. Pour over meatballs. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 50-60 minutes or until meatballs are no longer pink.

Our take on the traditional grape jelly meatballs. We have tried lots of this kind of recipe, and find we like this one best. It is a "must have" for any holiday party or football get together. If I don't serve this, there will be no place I can hide....

Steps:
- Place ketchup, jelly, hot sauce, garlic powder and onion flakes in a small saucepan, and stir over medium heat until jelly melts and everything is well mixed.
- Place meatballs in a crock pot or large sauce pan and cover with sauce, stirring to mix everything up.
- Heat on low setting for 20 minutes on the stove or several hours in the crock pot, until meatballs are hot and sauce sticks to them well. Serve hot.

GRANDMA'S CHRISTMAS MEATBALLS

Steps:
- Mix ground chuck, evaporated milk, onion soup mix, bread crumbs, and 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce together in a bowl. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Form approximately 40 small meatballs and place on a baking sheet.
- Set the oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler.
- Broil meatballs until just browned, 2 to 3 minutes. Turn meatballs over and continue broiling until browned on other side, about 2 minutes more.
- Transfer meatballs to a slow cooker.
- Combine ketchup, brown sugar, port wine, and 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir until dissolved, about 2 minutes. Pour over the meatballs in the slow cooker. Cook on High until meatballs are no longer pink in the middle and the sauce is thick, at least 1 hour.

These meatballs are always popular. They can be made a day ahead and reheated. I use currant jelly but they are usually made with grape jelly.

Steps:
- In a crock pot, combine the chili sauce, jelly, and mustard; cover and cook on HIGH while preparing meatballs.
- In a large bowl, combine beef, egg, bread crumbs, salt and pepper; mix thoroughly; shape into 30 mini meatballs.
- Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lightly coated with nonstick cooking spray.
- Bake at 400 for 15-20 minutes; drain well.
- Add the meatballs to the sauce, stir to coat.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 5 to 7 hours.
- Serve warm.

- 1. Combine chili sauce, preferred jam, juice, and hot sauce in large slow cooker. There will be lumps, but not to worry they will disappear as the sauce cooks.
- 2. Add frozen meatballs to slow cooker. Cover.
- 3. Cook on low for 6 hours. Stir occasionally. Serve.
- 4. I sometimes increase the hot sauce, depending on the crowd. Can also be made in the oven. Cook at 325 for 90 minutes.
HOLIDAY BUFFET MEATBALLS
I received this recipe from a dear neighbor many years ago. The meatballs are very good and easy to make and the sauce ingredients are items that you would normally have on hand. If you have the meatballs, you can whip up this appetizer in a snap.
