SHRIMP WITH GINGER HOISIN GLAZE

1 lb jumbo uncooked shrimp peeled and deveined
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp hoisin sauce
1 Tbsp rice vinegar
1 Tbsp brown sugar
2 clove garlic minced
1 Tbsp ginger grated
1 tsp soy sauce
1/4 c scallions sliced

Steps:

  • 1. Mix the hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, ginger and soy sauce together. Add oil to a skillet or wok. Add the shrimp and then pour the sauce over the shrimp cook until shrimp turns pink. Add the scallions and cook 1 more minute. Serve

1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/3 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
4-1/2 teaspoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
4-1/2 teaspoons hoisin sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
3 cups fresh broccoli florets
1 tablespoon canola oil
4 green onions, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon minced fresh gingerroot
1 pound uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 cups hot cooked rice

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and broth until smooth. Stir in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce and sesame oil; set aside., In a large nonstick skillet or wok, stir-fry broccoli in canola oil until crisp-tender. Add the onions, garlic and ginger; stir-fry for 3-4 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Add shrimp; stir-fry 4-5 minutes longer or until shrimp turn pink., Stir cornstarch mixture and add to the pan. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Serve with rice.

⅓ cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
¼ cup hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger root
1 clove garlic, pressed
2 tablespoons olive oil
6 (6 ounce) skinless, boneless salmon fillets

Steps:

  • Whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, chili sauce, lemon juice, ginger, garlic, and olive oil in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place the salmon fillets into the marinade, and turn to evenly coat. Cover the dish with plastic wrap, and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Remove and discard the plastic wrap from the salmon, use a spoon to scoop up the marinade that has collected in the bottom of the baking dish, and drizzle it over the salmon fillets.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the salmon flakes easily with a fork, about 30 minutes.

1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
2 teaspoons water
2 scallions, sliced thin
red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Follow "Base recipe for Pan Seared Shrimp" recipe number 316590, EXCEPT, subsitute an equal amount of red pepper flakes for black pepper.
  • Add Hoisin mixture when returning first batch of shrimp to skillet.

Steps:

  • In a heavy saute pan or wok, heat oil on medium-high until barely smoking. Add shrimp and ginger and saute for about 2 minutes.
  • Add the soy sauce and lemon juice, and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add the hoisin, and saute for 1 more minute or until the shrimp are well coated and fully cooked. Serve hot over rice.

  • Place the shrimp in a large sealable plastic bag. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, honey, balsamic vinegar, hoisin, garlic and pepper. Pour half of the mixture into the bag with the shrimp and set the remaining half aside. Seal the bag then shake it lightly so that the shrimp are thoroughly coated. Refrigerate the shrimp for 1 hour.
  • Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Slide several shrimp onto each of the wooden skewers then place the skewers on the grill and cook the shrimp until pink throughout, 3 to 4 minutes per side. While the shrimp cook, transfer the remaining half of the honey-garlic mixture to a small saucepan set over medium-high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce it to a simmer and cook it just until it has thickened into a glaze, about 5 minutes. Set the glaze aside.
  • Remove the shrimp skewers from the grill or grill pan and brush them with the prepared glaze. Serve immediately.
