Guava, a vitamin C-rich tropical fruit, adds a sunny hue and extra sweetness to this Guava Margarita recipe. Try this fruit margarita to mix things up when you're ready for something different than classic lime or strawberry frozen margarita recipes.

Number Of Ingredients 8

Kosher salt
10 - 11 lime wedges
3 cup Triple Sec or other orange liqueur
2 - 3 cup tequila
1.5 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
1 cup superfine sugar or powdered sugar
2 cup guava nectar
Ice cubes

Steps:

  • Place salt on a small plate. Rub rims of eight glasses with one of the lime wedges. Dip rims of glasses in salt to coat; set aside.
  • In a pitcher combine Triple Sec, tequila, lime juice, and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Stir in guava nectar. Chill until ready to serve.
  • Place ice cubes in salt-rimmed glasses. Pour tequila mixture over ice cubes. Garnish with remaining lime wedges.

GUAVA JALAPENO MARGARITA

3 jalapeno chiles
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespons tequila
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons lime juice (from about 5 limes), plus extra for rims (optional)
1/4 cup Cointreau or Grand Marnier
3 tablespoons guava juice
Coarse salt or margarita salt

Steps:

  • Place 2 whole jalapenos and the tequila in a small bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside for 1 day.
  • Pour the tequila into a pitcher or large punch bowl and add the lime juice, Cointreau or Grand Marnier and the guava juice. Stir to combine and chill in your refrigerator.
  • Place the coarse salt or margarita salt on a flat plate. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of each glass, turn it upside down on to the salt and then twist the glass in the salt to coat the rim.
  • Thinly slice the remaining jalapeno. Using a paring knife, remove the seeds from each slice. Serve the margarita straight up in a martini glass with some jalapenos floating in the glass or slit one side of the jalapeno ring and hang on the side of the glass.

margarita salt, if desired
ice cube
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
3/4-1 cup premium silver tequila
3 tablespoons triple sec
3 tablespoons simple syrup, recipe follows
1 cup guava juice
lime slice, for garnishing glass
1 cup sugar
1 cup water

Steps:

  • Rub a lime wedge around the edges of a margarita glasses and dip immediately in the margarita salt, if desired, turning to coat.
  • Place in the freezer for 10 minutes.
  • In a blender, combine the ice, lime juice, tequila, Triple Sec, Simple Syrup, and guava juice and blend until combined and ice cubes are crushed.
  • Pour into the chilled glasses, garnish each with a lime slice, and serve immediately.

  • Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  • Cook until sugar is dissolved, about 2 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and cool completely.

1 3/4 cups freshly squeezed lime juice, plus wedges for serving
2 3/4 cups Don Julio Anejo tequila
1 1/3 cups Grand Marnier
2 3/4 cups guava puree, preferably from SOS Chefs
Coarse salt, for rims
Cocktail glass flowers template, optional

Steps:

  • Stir together lime juice, tequila, Grand Marnier, and guava puree in a large pitcher; stir to combine. Refrigerate until chilled.
  • Just before serving, rub a cut lime around the rim of each glass. Fill a saucer with salt, and dip each glass, upside down, into the salt. Pour margaritas into glasses, garnish with lime wedges, and serve immediately.
