GREAT GRANNY'S BANANA ICE CREAM
I remember all of us grand kids taking turns turning the hand crank on the ice cream maker. It seemed to take forever but so worth it on a hot summer day. Summer isn't complete without this. This recipe is at every family reunion and barbecue. It has been in my family for at least 3 generations. Tried and true ... you won't be able to get enough!

Steps:
- In a large bowl mix eggs, bananas, sugar, vanilla, and sweetened condensed milk. Pour into container of ice cream maker. Add milk to the fill line of container.
- Place container in ice cream maker and add ice and rock salt in layers and freeze until ready.
- Place in freezer for 30 additional minutes if you can wait that long....we never seem to be able to wait.

What could be better than Great Granny's Banana Ice Cream and Home Baked Vanilla Waffers. Make a batch of these and you have dessert anytime you want. Everyone will love these on a hot summer's evening.

Steps:
- Thaw ice cream until softened. Spread ice cream on cookie flat side up and top with a cookie flat side down. Place on cookie sheet. Make as many as you want and continue placing on cookie sheet.
- Place cookie sheet in freezer and re-freeze. These will keep well in plastic containers or ziplock bags. Enjoy!
GRANDMA MARGARET'S HOMEMADE ICE CREAM
This is the way my grandma always made it...and beware, it's totally fattening but soooo good! Of course, back in the day, she made it in the old crank kind with all the ice and salt...long but fun process that I remember. Me, I have a Cuisinart 2qt electric job from Costco that I love! No ice, no salt, no muss, no fuss. Grandma's recipe as posted actually makes too much for my Cuisinart, so if you're like me, you'll have to scale it down some. Or...just make another batch!

Steps:
- Mix eggs, sugar, vanilla and whipping cream.
- If adding fruit, mash up 2 or 3 cups. I love strawberries or peaches, or you can do any other kind of creative goodies -- peanut butter cups, oreo cookies, whatever. Or, just plain ol vanilla ice cream.
- Grandma says to fill the remainder of container with milk to about 2" from the top, but with my Cuisinart, I don't even have to do that!
- If you have the older fashion kind, start the freezer before adding ice and salt. Don't ask me how much, as grandma passed 8 years ago and mine doesn't require any ice or salt.
- I'm telling you, go to Costco and invest $59 -- best thing I ever did!
- With mine, after 25 minutes I have thee BEST homemade ice cream!
