Categories     appetizer

Time 35m

Yield 24 deviled eggs

Number Of Ingredients 10

6 slices peppered bacon
1 dozen eggs
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon white vinegar
Hot sauce, such as Tabasco, as needed
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Paprika, for sprinkling

Steps:

  • Fry the peppered bacon in a pan over medium heat until crisp, 12 to 15 minutes. Remove to a paper-lined plate.
  • Fill a large pot with enough water to cover the eggs, then bring to a boil (without the eggs). Using a slotted spoon, gently lower the eggs into the boiling water. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Run the eggs under cold water until completely cooled.
  • Peel the eggs, cut in half and scoop out the yolks into the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. Add the mayo, cream, mustard, sugar and vinegar. Add hot sauce if using and salt and pepper to taste. Whip until smooth.
  • Using a small spoon, fill each egg white half with a generous teaspoon of the filling. Lightly sprinkle with paprika. Cut the bacon into chunks and decorate the tops of the egg halves with a shard of bacon.

SPICY DEVILED EGGS RECIPE WITH BACON AND JALAPENO

Spicy Deviled Eggs Recipe with Bacon and Jalapeno image

My spicy deviled eggs recipe is spiked with jalapeno, bacon and sriracha, the best deviled eggs a spicy food lover could ask for. Very easy to make!

Provided by Mike Hultquist

Categories     Appetizer

Number Of Ingredients 10

3 slices bacon (minced)
2 jalapeno peppers ((one minced, the other sliced for garnish))
3 garlic cloves (minced)
6 hard boiled eggs
2 ounces cream cheese
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 teaspoons spicy brown mustard
1 teaspoon sriracha (or use your favorite hot sauce)
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Heat a large pan to medium heat and cook the bacon about 5 minutes, until it is nice and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Reserve a bit of the bacon grease in the pan and reserve enough cooked bacon to use for garnish.
  • Add the minced jalapeno pepper and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds, until you can smell the gorgeous garlic. Remove from heat.
  • Slice the hard boiled eggs in half. Remove the yolks and add them to a large bowl along with the cooked bacon, jalapeno pepper, garlic, cream cheese, mayonnaise, spicy brown mustard, sriracha (or hot sauce), cayenne pepper and a bit of salt and pepper.
  • Mash the mixture with a fork, then stir it up until it is nice and creamy. You can also use a hand mixer for this.
  • Spoon the spicy deviled egg filling into the halved egg whites.
  • Garnish with bacon, jalapeno slices, spicy chili flakes and/or extra cayenne pepper.

GHOST PEPPER AND BACON DEVILED EGGS

Ghost Pepper and Bacon Deviled Eggs image

I looked over several deviled egg recipes to get the idea of what ingredients and ratios are typical, then worked on a conglomeration of my own.

Provided by cateritforward

Categories     < 30 Mins

Time 30m

Yield 24 egg halves, 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

12 hard-boiled eggs, peeled and sliced lengthwise
1/2 cup mayonnaise
3 pieces bacon (fried until crispy, then minced finely)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried ghost chile (powdered)
2 teaspoons pickle juice
1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
2 1/2 teaspoons dill relish
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
ground habanero chile pepper or paprika

Steps:

  • Remove egg yolks.
  • Add mayonnaise, pickle juice, mustard, salt, white pepper, ghost pepper, dill relish, bacon, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Stir until well blended.
  • Fill egg halves with mixture.
  • Dust with ground habanero for a little extra kick, or paprika can be used for mellower palates.
  • Refrigerate at least an hour to allow flavors to blend.
  • (After enjoying, I found that I would have preferred a full teaspoon of ghost pepper in the eggs but my wife said if they were much hotter she would be unable to eat them. You can always substitute different peppers for taste, but I was quite satisfied with the powdered pepper as opposed to ground.).

SPINACH-BACON DEVILED EGGS

Spinach-Bacon Deviled Eggs image

Another twist on deviled eggs with spinach and bacon. Original recipe calls for cider vinegar AND sugar, but I think it's fine if you want to omit the sugar. I topped it off with a little cayenne pepper and paprika and everyone enjoyed it. I cut the recipe in half (6 eggs and eye balled the amount of mayo, salt and pepper), but will post the full measured recipe Published by Debbie Moose (Deviled Egg: 50 Recipes from Simple to Sassy)

GARLIC, BASIL AND BACON DEVILED EGGS

Garlic, Basil and Bacon Deviled Eggs image

Recipe from Allrecipes the submitter is JoeLactoseFree. I have all the eggs I need and also all the fresh basil I can use so this sounds wonderful. I took the liberty of changing it a bit. The orginal recipe calls for 2 fresh garlic cloves press. think I would maybe cut the garlic down to one clove or even use garlic powder. Also it called for 1/2 cup fresh basil as some reviews said this is too much so I'm guessing 2 tbl spoons is enough, maybe less. You could also just add a little hot sauce instead of the pepper flakes. But it is all a matter of preference I think.

Time 45m

Yield 24 , 12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

12 hard-boiled eggs
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
5 slices bacon
2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 pinch salt
1 pinch pepper
1 dash paprika

Steps:

  • Place the eggs into a saucepan in a single layer and fill with water to cover the eggs by 1 inch. Cover the saucepan and bring the water to a boil over high heat. Remove from the heat and let the eggs stand in the hot water for 15 minutes. Drain. Cool the eggs under cold running water. Peel once cold. Halve the eggs lengthwise and scoop the yolks into a bowl. Mash the yolks together with pressed garlic with a fork.
  • Cook the bacon in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Drain on a paper towel-lined plate; chop once cool. Add to the mashed egg yolks. Stir the basil, mayonnaise, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper into the mixture until evenly mixed. Fill the egg white halves with the mixture; sprinkle each stuffed egg with a bit of paprika.

JALAPENO BACON DEVILED EGGS

Jalapeno Bacon Deviled Eggs image

I had an epiphany today and came up with these. Make them when you have leftover bacon (if there is such a thing). I had to make bacon, but it was worth it! Note: When I buy pickled jalapeno slices, I mince the entire jar in a 'Bullet' food processor (with the brine) because it's so much easier to evenly distribute on nachos and to use in recipes too.

Categories     Lunch/Snacks

Time 30m

Yield 16 Deviled egg halves, 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 12

8 eggs, hard boiled and peeled
1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/2 tablespoon white vinegar
1 dash garlic powder
1/3 cup mayonnaise (not Miracle Whip, it has sugar)
salt or celery salt
3 -4 tablespoons minced onions
2 -5 tablespoons minced pickled jalapeno peppers
4 slices crispy bacon, chopped fine
1 quart ziploc bag (for piping the yolk mixture into the egg)
paprika (to garnish, chives or cilantro leaves would be good, too)

Steps:

  • Cook your eggs and bacon at the same time if you don't have leftovers.
  • Slice the eggs lengthwise in half and pop the yolks into a small mixing bowl.
  • Mash the yolks thoroughly with the next four ingredients.
  • Add the mayo in 3rds till it's the consistency you like, mashing any lumps of yolk. I use all the mayo but some people don't want to consume that much. More mayo makes a lighter filling.
  • Salt to taste, then add the onion, jalapeno and bacon and mix well.
  • Place in the quart ziploc bag (fold the top edge well down so you don't get yolk all over it and spoon the mixture into one of the corners. Unfold the bag top, smooth out any air, twirl the bag to seal the egg into it and clip the corner off the bag.
  • Pipe the yolk into the egg halves. It makes quite a bit so you can mound the yolk over on the solid white part of the egg, as you fill it.
  • Garnish.
