Garlic Butter Baked Pork Chops are juicy, tender, and super-flavourful thanks to the amazing butter sauce. You need less than 20 minutes to make this recipe.

2 medium-sized pork chops
salt and pepper
4 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon fresh thyme (chopped)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper, and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the butter, thyme, and garlic. Set aside.
  • In a cast iron skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. When the skillet is really hot, add the pork chops. Sear until golden, about 2 minutes per side.
  • Pour the garlic butter mixture over the pork chops. Place the skillet in the oven, and cook until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145ºF, about 10-14 minutes. The time depends on the thickness of your pork chops.*
  • Remove from the oven. Using a spoon, pour some of the butter sauce left in the skillet onto the pork chops before serving.

This recipe is my twist on a fancy restaurant meal we got on Valentine's Day. The recipe has half the amount of garlic than was originally used. Hope everyone else enjoys it just as much as we do. Garnish with fresh parsley, chives, or thyme leaves.

2 pounds boneless pork chops
½ teaspoon paprika
1 pinch kosher salt and ground black pepper to taste
¼ cup butter, divided
1 (8 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth

Steps:

  • Season both sides of pork chops with paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat; add 2 tablespoons butter. Sear pork chops until golden brown and no longer pink in the center, 2 to 4 minutes per side. Remove pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
  • Melt remaining butter in the same skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and cook until golden and excess moisture evaporates, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and mustard; cook until garlic is fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Add flour to the skillet, stirring to remove any lumps. Slowly add beef broth, whisking until incorporated. Season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to medium and simmer, stirring often, until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Check for seasoning again.
  • Return pork chops to the skillet and cook until heated through, about 1 minute. Serve hot.

4 tablespoons salted butter
One 10-ounce package small white button mushrooms, cleaned, stems removed if mushrooms are large
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
2 cloves garlic, minced
Zest and juice of 1 lemon
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Melt 3 tablespoons of the butter in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add the mushrooms in one layer and cook, without moving, until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and toss. Continue to cook until the mushrooms are cooked through, about 5 more minutes. Add the thyme, garlic and lemon zest, then cook for 1 minute. Add the lemon juice and remaining tablespoon of butter and toss until the butter is melted. Sprinkle with the chopped parsley and serve.

1/2 Stick Butter

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2.In a large skillet over medium high heat combine butter, garlic, mushrooms, salt, pepper, oregano and thyme. 3.Once butter has melted, add your pork chops and seer on each side for 1-2 minutes until golden brown. 4.Once both sides of the pork chops are a golden brown place in oven and bake for 35 minutes or until centers are no longer pink. *Time may need to be adjusted depending on the thickness of your pork chops. 5.Remove skillet from oven and remove your pork chops and sit them aside to rest. 6.Whisk flour and milk into your pan with the remaining liquids after removing the pork chops. Whisk until all lumps are removed. Simmer for 3-4 minutes. 7.Serve over the top of pork chops.

  • Cook pork chops: Preheat your oven to 400F. Pat dry pork chops, season with salt, pepper, and fresh rosemary. Heat up the ovenproof skillet; add cooking oil and sear pork chops for 3 minutes on each side. Transfer them to baking sheet with a rack and place in the hot oven for about 6 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145F.
  • Cook mushrooms: to the same skillet add sliced mushrooms without any seasoning and cook undisturbed for about 3-4 minutes; then mix them and cook for another 2 minutes until cooked through and golden brown; then add butter, garlic, thyme, salt and pepper and cook for another minute.
