- 1. FOR EVERY 4 FUNNEL CAKES 1 egg 3/4 cup milk vegetable Directions: Funnel Cake Mix: In large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon; stir until mixture is well blended. Place mix in wide-mouth 1 quart canning jar. Attach a gift tag with the mixing and frying directions. Mixing and Frying Directions: Heat oil in 360 degree F over medium high heat. In a small bowl, combine egg and milk. Add 1 cup Funnel Cake mix and beat with a fork until smooth. Holding finger under funnel opening, pour about 1/4 cup batter into funnel. Allow batter to pour from funnel into hot oil, moving funnel in a circle to form a spiral shape. Fry 1 minuted, turn cake over and continue frying until golden brown. Remove from heat to paper towel to drain. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve. 20 minutes preparation 4 minutes to cook

- In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients; transfer mixture to a plastic zip-top bag or air-tight glass jar.
- Include the following instructions: in a mixing bowl, beat 1 large egg and 1 cup milk; add in funnel cake mix and beat until smooth.
- In a frying pan, heat oil (1-inch depth) until 375 degrees.
- Pour batter, 1/2 cup at a time through a funnel into the hot oil with a circular motion to form a spiral.
- Fry until golden; turn to fry the other side.
- Remove funnel cake to drain on paper towel lined plate.
- Repeat with remaining batter.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar while warm.
- Note: takes a little practice to get the hang of it.

We love this recipe. Got it from www.allrecipes.com We modified it to use at a fundraiser so you wouldnt have to use milk that might spoil. And Dry eggs also. 33 cups vegetable oil for frying 2 cups and 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar for dusting

Steps:
- Sift flour, salt, sugar, egg, and baking powder. Add dry milk. Add water and beat with mixer until nice and smooth.
- Pour oil into a heavy pan until it is 1 inch deep. Heat to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- If using a heavy deep fryer that is made for multiple cakes keep heat at 400 degrees.
- Pour batter through funnel into oil with a circular motion to form a spiral. Fry until lightly brown; turn over to brown the other side. Cook to golden brown, and remove to drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar while still warm.

Steps:
- Layer ingredients in jar in order given in a 1 quart canning jar.
- It is helpful to tap jar lightly on a padded surface (towel on counter) as you layer the ingredients to make all ingredients fit neatly.
- Use scissors to cut a 9 inch-diameter circle from fabric of your choice.
- Center fabric circle over lid and secure with a rubber band.
- Tie on a raffia or ribbon bow to cover the rubber band.
- Attach a card with the following directions: Crazy Cake 3/4 cup Vegetable Oil, 2 tsp Vinegar, 1 tsp Vanilla and 2 cups Water.
- Stir cake ingredients together using a wire whisk or fork, making certain that all ingredients are completely mixed together.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 minutes.
- Frost as desired or serve sprinkled with powdered sugar, with fresh fruit on the side.

- Mix salt, baking powder, and half the flour in a bowl. Set aside.
- Cream eggs, sugar, and milk in a large bowl. Add flour mixture and beat until smooth. Continue to add remaining flour, but use only enough to achieve desired consistency. Batter will be thin enough to run through a funnel.
- Heat the oil to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) in an 8-inch skillet.
- Put your finger over the bottom opening of the funnel, and fill the funnel with a generous 1/2 cup of the batter. Hold the funnel close to the surface of the oil, and release the batter into the oil while making a circular motion. Fry until golden brown. Use tongs and wide spatula to turn the cake over carefully. Fry the second side one minute. Drain on paper towels, and sprinkle with sifted confectioners' sugar.
