Delicious and Healthy summer snack. Fruit Kebabs are easy to make and kids love making themselves these refreshing fruit snacks.

1 marshmallows
1 strawberry
1 apple
1/2 banana
1/2 kiwi fruit
1/2 orange
1/2 tangerine
1/4 mango
8 ounces cut pineapple
9 ounces cut watermelon

Steps:

  • Great tasting easy to make fruit skewers for kids. A great alternative to chips and soda, these fruit kebabs can be made with most any fruit you can cut up and skewer. Here is our favorite Fruit Kabob Recipe.
  • marshmallow.

  • tangerine.
  • mango.
  • pineapple.
  • watermelon.
  • 1. Cut oranges, pineapple and apples into cubes. Cut the Watermelon either into cubes or scoop out melon balls. Start by putting the Marshmallow on the skewer, then add fruit on top of it to form a fresh fruit kebab.
  • 2. - some fruit such as pineapple, star fruit or banana can also be grilled on the bar-b-q. Soak the wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before grilling. Just brush the fruit with a marinade of butter and lemon juice before grilling. Grill over medium heat, a few minutes on each side.
  • 3. But Fruit Kebabs taste great just by stacking fresh fruit as well. The more colorful and tasty, the better this summer snack tastes to kids.

Fresh Fruit Kebabs image

This recipe is light and healthy. Great for get togethers and whats even better is that is great for all ages and all lifestyles, whether your dieting or not. The possibilities are endless, but you could use kiwi, mango, blueberries, raspberries, melons (i.e cantaloupe, watermelons) etc.

3 bananas (cut into 1 inch chunks)
2 cups pineapple chunks (30-40 pieces)
30 -40 strawberries
30 -40 seedless grapes
1/2 cup orange juice
10 wooden skewers
apple jelly (optional)

Steps:

  • Put the cut up bananas in a medium bowl. Combine the orange juice with the bananas and gently toss a couple of times to coat bananas.
  • This method should keep bananas from turning brown.
  • Take a wooden skewer and thread your fruit on.
  • *To enhance the sweetness of the strawberries, instead of using whole strawberries, cut each one in half place in a medium bowl and add a wee bit of sugar and toss around.
  • Method 2.
  • Add about 5 large tbsp of apple jelly to a small saucepan and stir over a medium jelly, until it because less lumpy, let cool.
  • Slice bananas and coat with apple jelly.
  • Slice strawberries and cut in half and coat with either sugar or apple jelly.
  • Slice the rest of the fruit and set aside.
  • Stick the fruit on the skewers.
  • Enjoy!

Talk about a healthy, sweet summer treat?! After all the chocolate and brownies as the past few desserts, I thought it might be time for some "dessert of the month detox"! ;) And what better way than with fresh fruit, honey and unsweetened coconut! Or sweetened coconut flakes if you insist on having sugar in your dessert. Or if that's what you've got on hand! Oh...and what you don't end up using for dessert on the skewers can be turned into a lovely fruit salad.

apple, cut into chunks
cantaloupe, cut into chunks
watermelon, cut into chunks
grapes, cut in half

pear, cut into chunks
mango, cut into chunks
berries
papaya, cut into chunks
drizzles honey
couple pinchfuls shredded coconut

Steps:

  • Place the fruit chunks on metal or wooden skewers. Lay them on a serving plate.
  • Drizzle the honey over top.
  • Sprinkle the shredded coconut.
  • Serve immediately.
