Dressed in a rich and sticky sauce with a hint of honey, cooking this buffalo chicken wings recipe in your Ooni means maximum wood-fired flavor for game day. YieldServes 8 as a snack or appetizer Ingredients4.4lbs (2kg) chicken wingsOlive oilBuffalo sauce2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce2 tbsp apple cider vinegar3 tbsp olive oil3 tbsp honey8 fl oz (200ml) your preferred hot sauce1 stick (100g) butter, melted MethodFire up your Ooni pizza oven. Aim for 480°F (250°C) on the stone baking board inside. You can check the temperature inside your Ooni pizza oven quickly and easily using the Ooni Infrared Thermometer. In a large bowl, mix together all the buffalo sauce ingredients. Set aside a quarter of the mixture. Add the chicken wings to the large bowl, and cover to marinate in the fridge for minimum 30 minutes. Add a little olive oil to your Sizzler Pan or Grizzler Pan, and place inside your oven to preheat. Remove the pan and place the dressed wings inside. Cook for 20 minutes, or until nicely charred, then flip the wings and pour over the remaining buffalo sauce. Return the pan to your Ooni oven for another 10 minutes, or until the sauce has started to thicken and the chicken is cooked through. Remove from the oven and serve the wings right from the pan - use the Grizzler or Sizzler's fitted wooden board to rest the hot pan on your dining table.

1 lb chicken drummettes
1/4 cup hot pepper sauce
2 teaspoons paprika, divided
1/8 teaspoon cayenne (to taste)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup fat free blue cheese dressing
8 celery ribs

Steps:

  • In sealable plastic bag combine drumettes, hot pepper sauce, Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon paprika, and cayenne.
  • Seal bag and shake to coat chicken.
  • Refrigerate and marinate at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 425°F
  • Remove drumettes from marinade and arrange in single layer in shallow baking pan.
  • Sprinkle with half the remaining paprika.
  • Bake 10 minutes.
  • Turn drumettes over.
  • Sprinkle with remaining paprika.
  • Bake anothers 10 minutes or until meat is no longer pink near the bone.
  • Pour dressing into small bowl.
  • Arrange chicken pieces and celery sticks on serving platter.
  • Accompany with dressing for dipping.
