A creamy pasta dish with many different delicious flavors. Serve with garlic bread and a green salad, if desired.

12 ounces spaghetti
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 pound kielbasa sausage, cut into 1 inch pieces

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain and reserve.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, tomato soup, cheese, kielbasa and pasta; mix well. Pour mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes or until bubbly; serve.

This sauce is so good! A definite break from the ordinary. I like to experiment in the kitchen and this is one experiment that definitely went right! Plus, it's a very versatil kind of base-sauce, so you can add different things to your liking. My next time making this, I'm definitely going to try adding in mushrooms. (prep time does not include bacon/chicken drippings)

2 -3 teaspoons bacon drippings (or chicken drippings from baked chicken if you've got them)
1/2 teaspoon garlic (fresh or powder)
1/4 onion, sliced thin
3 -4 manzanilla olives, chopped fine (optional)
1/4 cup mushroom, chopped (optional)
3/4 cup tomato sauce (pasta sauce)
1 cup extra-sharp cheddar cheese (best to use brick cheese and slice it thin for quick and even cooking)

Steps:

  • Heat a pot over medium heat. Once pot is hot, pour in bacon drippings (can add bacon too, crumbled).
  • Add in onions and cook until they start to become translucent, then add garlic and olives, mushrooms, or whatever other vegetables you decide to add to the sauce.
  • Once vegetables are soft, add in tomato sauce. Cook until heated through (about 3 minutes), then add cheese and stir until melted.
  • Serve this over pasta or stir the pasta directly into the pot. Since this is a thick sauce, the noodles should easily hold on to the sauce.

1 cup uncooked small tube pasta
1 small onion, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) Italian diced tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions. In a small saucepan, saute onion in oil until tender. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Stir in the tomatoes, basil, oregano, sugar and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Drain pasta; stir into saucepan., Transfer to a greased 1-qt. baking dish. Top with cheeses. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 10-15 minutes or until cheese is melted.

This vegetarian pasta sauce counts as your 5-a-day, it is very healthy, includes and does not take long to make. A great recipe for pasta, baked or roasted potatoes and red meat. It can also liven up a barbecue, using fresh tomatoes and basil leaves.

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a medium-sized non-stick saucepan and gently cook the onion and the cherry tomatoes, then add the garlic until it becomes slightly golden. After this, add the tin of chopped tomatoes. Tip in the celery and grapes (optional: olives). Allow these to cook until they are slightly soft. Then add the grated cheese, allow this to melt into the sauce.
  • Allow the sauce to cook for a further 1 minute. Season it to your preference, then serve in bowls topped with basil leaves and the shaved Parmesan and an extra teaspoon of olive oil.

My mom used to make a shells & cheese dish with velveeta cheese when I was a child which used bacon and canned tomatoes. This is my short-cut which tastes 99% like the one mom used to make. Mine is made with a store bought pasta sauce. Note: This is also great when you add 1 cup chopped & cooked chicken breast to the alfredo sauce mixture.

15 ounces classico sun dried tomato alfredo sauce
4 slices bacon
1 lb shell pasta or 1 lb ravioli
1/3 cup milk

Steps:

  • Boil shell pasta according to package directions.
  • Fry bacon, drain on paper towell. Chop.
  • Discard bacon drippings, set pan aside (do not wipe clean).
  • Drain Pasta.
  • Add pasta to pan that bacon was cooked in; "stir fry" pasta for 3-5 minutes until coated slightly. If using ravioli, let brown.
  • Add pasta sauce and bacon - stir gently to coat.
  • Pour milk into jar with remaining sauce. Add lid and shake.
  • Combine with sauce in Pan.
  • Allow mixture to simmer until sauce thickens (about 5-7 minutes).
