DR PEPPER BAKED BEANS
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Add oil to a large pot and heat on medium heat, add in diced onions and garlic powder. Cook until soft, about 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add in beans and 1/2 cup Dr Pepper, stir and simmer for about 6 to 7 minutes.
- Add in remaining ingredients and simmer for another 8 to 10 minutes.
- Transfer beans to an oven safe dish and bake for 20 minutes.

- Combine all of the ingredients and pour into a 2 quart baking dish.
- Bake uncovered for 1 hour 15 minutes at 325 degrees, until bubbly.
- Remove from oven and let sit for 5-10 minutes to thicken.

- 1. Prheat oven to 375*; in a large skillet, on medium heat brown the bacon pieces, until bottom of pan is coated with bacon grease.
- 2. Add the onion and pepper and saute until transparent, and pepper is soft. Add the brown sugar;and stir until sugar melts.
- 3. Add the BBQ sauce; DR. Pepper and beans and stir all together well. Pour into a shallow baking pan and top with 2-3 more slices of uncooked bacon. Bake for 45-1 hour time or until bacon on top is browned and crisp! Enjoy!

- Set oven to 375 degrees.
- Butter a 3-qt baking dish.
- Heat a skillet over med heat with 1 tbsp oil.
- Add sausage, and 3/4 cup Dr Pepper drink; bring to boil.
- Cover; and lower the heat.
- Continue cooking about 30 mins, until Dr Pepper becomes syrupy.
- Drain the pinto beans; place in a large saucepan, add 1 cup Dr Pepper, ketchup, wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, soy sauce, garlic, onion and salt.
- Bring to simmer, stirring occasionally.
- Season with black pepper.
- Pour into a 3-qt buttered baking dish.
- Stir in sausage mixture.
- Top with cheese and bread crumbs.
- Bake, covered for 40 mins, or until cheese is melted, and mixture is bubbling.

- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Spray a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
- Place a large cast-iron skillet over medium heat until hot, then add the bacon and fry until almost crisp, 10 to 12 minutes. Remove to a paper towel-lined plate and set aside.
- Add the onion and peppers to the same skillet to cook in the bacon grease until tender, about 5 minutes. Add the pork and beans, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, jalepenos, mustard, salt and pepper, then stir to combine. Bring to a simmer, then transfer to the prepared baking dish. Cut the bacon into large pieces and place on top of the beans. Transfer to the oven to cook until bubbly and syrupy, about 2 hours.
BOURBON AND DP BAKED BEANS
I came up with this recipe after having made some bourbon baked beans and seeing a recipe for cola baked beans and I thought: Why not combine the two?

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Mix brown sugar, paprika, mustard, and cayenne pepper together in a bowl. Whisk in pepper soda, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce until brown sugar is dissolved.
- Cut 4 slices of bacon into small strips. Cook and stir in a large Dutch oven over medium heat until almost crispy, 3 to 5 minutes. Transfer to a bowl, reserving bacon grease.
- Stir onion into the bacon grease in the Dutch oven; cook and stir until soft, 3 to 5 minutes. Add garlic; cook and stir for 1 minute. Pour in bourbon, stirring to scrape up browned bits off the bottom with a wooden spoon. Stir bacon strips back in.
- Pour brown sugar mixture and baked beans into the Dutch oven. Simmer until beans are heated through, about 15 minutes. Arrange remaining 4 slices of bacon on top of the beans.
- Bake in the preheated oven, covered, until beans are bubbly and sauce is syrupy, about 3 hours.
