1 sourdough loaf
1 1/2 - 2 pounds ground beef
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1 tomato, sliced
1 onion, sliced and sauteed
1 8 oz package of sliced mushrooms, sauteed
1/2 cup packed spinach
8 pieces bacon, cooked

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350˚F/180˚F. 2. In a circular cake pan, add the ground beef and season with garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and salt and mix to combine. Press the beef into patty form and bake for 12 minutes. Repeat this process for the second patty. 3. Slice off the top of the sourdough loaf and scoop out the inside. 4. Begin by laying down slices of cheese at the bottom, then add your first burger patty. 5. Layer more cheese on top of the patty and continue by adding bacon, sauteed mushrooms & onions, spinach, and tomato. 6. Add a second burger patty and repeat step 5. 7. Place the top of the loaf back on the bread and wrap in aluminum foil. 8. On a level surface, use a heavy object to press the sandwich down for at least 30 minutes. 9. Remove aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. 10. Enjoy!

Here's what you need: ground beef, salt, pepper, medium yellow onion, garlic, fresh spinach, puff pastry, cheddar cheese, egg, sesame seed

2 lb ground beef
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
1 medium yellow onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups fresh spinach
2 sheets puff pastry
8 slices cheddar cheese
1 egg, beaten
sesame seed, for sprinkling

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a medium 8-inch (20-cm) cast-iron skillet, press down half of the ground beef with a spatula to mold into a patty. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Place the cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and sear the patty until browned, about 4 minutes on each side.
  • Remove the patty from the skillet and set aside. Repeat with remaining beef.
  • Return the pan to low heat and add the onion. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion is caramelized, about 20 minutes.
  • Add the garlic and spinach, stirring until the spinach is cooked down, about 5 minutes.
  • Lay one sheet of puff pastry on a baking sheet and top with 1 patty.
  • Layer 4 slices of cheese over the patty, then top with the caramelized onion mixture.
  • Top with the remaining 4 slices of cheese and the other patty.
  • Cover with the other sheet of puff pastry.
  • Trim the edges of the pastry with a knife and discard.
  • Crimp the edges of the pastry, then press with a fork to seal.
  • Brush the top and sides of the pastry with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and cooked through.
  • Slice and serve with additional toppings of your choice.
  • Enjoy!

  • In a circular cake pan, add half of the ground beef and season with half of the garlic powder, half of the onion powder, half of the pepper, and half of the salt. Mix to combine then press the beef into patty form.
  • Bake for 12 minutes.
  • Repeat this process for the second patty.
  • Slice off the top of the sourdough loaf and scoop out the inside.
