3 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 cup butter (2 sticks)
2 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • For the dough:.
  • In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs, milk and vanilla. Mix well. Stir in the dry ingredients.
  • Form the dough into 1 inch balls. Place on a greased baking sheet and flatten.
  • For the topping:.
  • Combine the sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle
  • the top of the cookie before baking.
  • Bake 8 minutes or until cooked through.

4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 cup butter (softened)
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 Tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs, milk and vanilla. Mix well. Add the wet ingredients in with the dry ingredients and mix until everything is incorporated.
  • In another small bowl, mix together cinnamon and sugar for the topping.
  • Form the dough into 1 inch balls and roll in the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Place dough balls on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper or lightly sprayed with non stick cooking spray.
  • Use the bottom of a glass and slightly flatten cookies.
  • Sprinkle the tops of the cookies with additional cinnamon/sugar mixture, then bake for 7-8 minutes. Do not over bake cookies.
  • Remove from oven and let cool on the cookie sheet for 1-2 minutes, then move to a wire rack to cool.

1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose or unbleached flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F.
  • Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar, the butter, shortening and eggs in large bowl. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
  • Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Mix 1/4 cup sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
