1/2 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon rosemary
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon basil
1 large loaf French bread or 1 large Italian bread
4 garlic cloves, minced
grated parmesan cheese
fresh minced parsley

Steps:

  • Place first 5 ingredients in small saucepan and warm over low heat until butter is melted.
  • Slice bread.
  • GENEROUSLY brush herbed butter on each slice.
  • Sprinkle with minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, and parsley.
  • Place in very hot oven or broiler for a few minutes until slightly browned.
  • Enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 large loaf French of Italian bread
8 tbsp. unsalted butter
2 large garlic cloves
2 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
1 tbsp. finely snipped fresh chives
1 tsp. minced fresh thyme or oregano leaves (no stems) or a mixture of both
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1/4 tsp. Freshly ground pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cut the bread crosswise into 1-inch-thick slices but do not cut all the way through the bottom of the loaf. Place lengthwise on a sheet of foil long enough to fold over in the center.
  • In a small bowl, combine the butter, garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper and mix well. Spread about 1 teaspoon of the mixture over the cut sides of the bread. Seal the foil around the bread and bake on the center oven rack until the butter melts and the loaf is hot, about 10 minutes.Nutritional information is based on one serving.

2 tablespoons chopped parsley leaves

1 loaf crusty baguette
Extra-virgin olive oil

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

4 ounces provolone cheese, shredded, optional

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the butter, Romano cheese, basil, parsley and garlic. Spread over cut sides of bread. Sprinkle with provolone cheese if desired. , Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 425° for 10-12 minutes or until cheese is melted. Slice and serve warm.
