This is to die for! Don't be shocked by the amount of garlic, it does work. I just wouldn't recommend any up-close-personal-contact for a couple days.... ;)

Ingredients

2 sprigs fresh thyme
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
2 sprigs fresh sage
2 sprigs fresh Italian parsley
1 cup chicken broth
40 cloves garlic, unpeeled
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 lbs whole chickens
2 stalks celery, sliced
1 loaf French bread, sliced

Steps:

Place 1 sprig thyme, rosemary, sage and parsley in chicken cavity.
Place celery in crock pot.
Put chicken on top of celery.
Pour chicken stock around the chicken.
Add garlic around chicken.
Chop remaining herbs. Sprinkle herbs, salt and pepper over chicken.
Cover cook on Low 8- 10 hours or on High 4- 6 hours.
To serve, place chicken, garlic and celery on serving platter.
Squeeze roasted garlic out of skins onto toasted French bread slices and spread with knife.

This is an adaptation of a recipe from the Rival website. My family adores it. serves 8 very hungry people.

Ingredients

2 (3 -4 lb) whole chickens
3 heads garlic
italian seasoning
1 bunch cilantro
5 stalks celery
1 cup softened butter
1 -2 loaf thickly sliced Italian bread or 1 -2 loaf French bread
grated mozzarella cheese (optional)

Steps:

wash celery, and cut into 3 inch pieces, lay on bottom of 6 qt crock pot.
separate the garlic into unpeeled cloves, layer in bottom of crock pot.
wash and dry chickens inside and out, discard or reserve innards and necks.
rub chickens thoroughly with Italian seasoning, inside and out.
place 3 stalks of cilantro inside each chicken.
tie or net chickens, and place in crock pot.
top with 3-5 stalks of cilantro.
cook 7-10 hours on low, 6-8 hours on high, removing some juice half way through to prevent overflow.
remove chickens to a platter.
squeeze roasted garlic out of peel, and combine with softened butter.
spread on thickly sliced french or Italian bread, and broil until melted and slightly toasted.
top with grated cheese if desired.
Thickened with milk and flour, the juice makes wonderful gravy for mashed potatoes.

This dish smells wonderful while it's cooking. It will bring your family running at dinner time. This may get dry in the crock pot after awhile. So I recommend adding about one or two cups of chicken stock to barely cover the chicken while it cooks.

Ingredients

4 -6 chicken breasts
4 medium red potatoes
8 garlic cloves
1/4 cup melted unsalted butter
1/4 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
shallot (optional)

Steps:

Cut potatoes into chunks and put in crock pot Place chicken on top Mince garlic and sprinkle on top of chicken Mix honey and butter together.
I recommend you heat the honey a little so it is easy to work with.
Spread the honey and butter mixture over the chicken.
Sprinkle lemon pepper on top of all of it.
Turn crock pot on low and cook for 6-7 hours.
