1 tablespoon butter
¼ cup chopped onion
1 apple - peeled, cored, and sliced
2 (1/2-inch thick) pork chops
¾ cup applesauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
½ teaspoon ground mustard
⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat; cook and stir onion and apple slices in the melted butter until tender, about 5 minutes. Transfer onion and apple to a bowl.
  • Place pork chops in the same skillet; cook over medium heat until pork chops are browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side.
  • Mix applesauce, brown sugar, mustard, and cinnamon into onion and apple mixture.
  • Place pork chops in a 9x9-inch baking dish; season with salt and black pepper. Spoon applesauce mixture over pork chops; cover dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until pork chops are no longer pink in the center, about 30 to 45 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).

4 boneless center cut pork chops ((can use up to 8 pork chops if you need to serve more people))
4 granny Smith apples
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. dried leaf thyme

Steps:

  • Place pork chops in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  • Cut apples into 8 large slices and place on top of pork chops.
  • Combine brown sugar and seasonings then sprinkle mixture over apples.
  • Cook on low 5-6 hours.

3 pounds pork chops can use boneless or bone-in
2 tablespoons dried minced onions
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tablespoon ground ginger
2 cups cinnamon apple sauce or plain apple sauce plus the addition of 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a 6 quart or larger slow cooker place a crock-pot liner or spray with non-stick cooking spray if desired. Lay half of the pork chops in the bottom of the slow cooker season with half of the minced onions, salt, pepper and ground ginger. Cover the pork chops with 1 cup of the applesauce. Add another layer of pork chops and sprinkle the other half of the minced onions, salt, pepper, and ground ginger. Spread the other cup of applesauce over the pork chops. Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 8 hours on LOW. Serve over cooked rice or pasta if desired. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, divided
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic pepper blend
1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
4 boneless pork loin chops (4 ounces each)
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) chicken broth

Steps:

  • In a shallow bowl, combine 1/4 cup flour, mustard, garlic pepper and seasoned salt. Add pork chops, one at a time, and dredge to coat. In a large skillet, brown chops in oil on both sides. , Transfer to a 5-qt. slow cooker. Pour broth over chops. Cook, covered, on low for 2-3 hours or until meat is tender. , Remove pork to a serving plate and keep warm. Whisk remaining flour into cooking juices until smooth; cook, covered, on high until gravy is thickened.

8 boneless pork chops or 1 -2 lb pork tenderloin

Steps:

  • Put pie filling in crock.
  • Cover with applesauce.

The apple and onion together work magic on this classic dish. This is traditionally served on New Year's Day in Central Pennsylvania. It is customarily served with mashed potatoes. The sauerkraut mixture tops the mashed potatoes like a gravy. Surprisingly good.

6 thick-cut pork chops
4 tart apples, peeled and sliced
1 large onion, sliced
water to cover
1 quart sauerkraut
½ teaspoon fennel seed, or to taste

Steps:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown pork chops in hot skillet, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Drain.
  • Arrange apples and onion in the bottom of a slow cooker; top with browned pork chops. Pour in enough water to cover bottom of the slow cooker crock.
  • Cook on High for 3 hours (or on Low for 6 hours). Add sauerkraut and fennel seed to pork chop mixture. Cook for 1 more hour.
