THE 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE | FRANKLINCOVEY

From resources.franklincovey.com
  • Be Proactive® Being proactive means more than taking initiative. It means we are responsible for our own lives. Our behavior is a function of our decisions, not our conditions.
  • Begin with the End in Mind® To begin with the end in mind means to start with a clear understanding of your destination. You need to know where you are going in order to better understand where you are now so that the steps you take are always in the right direction.
  • Put First Things First® Habit 3 is the practical fulfillment of Habits 1 and 2. Habit 1 says, "You are the creator. You are in charge." Habit 2 is the first mental creation, based on imagination, the ability to envision what you can become.
  • Think Win-Win® Win/Win is not a technique; it's a total philosophy. This frame of mind and heart constantly seeks mutual benefit in all human interactions.
  • Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood® Seek first to understand involves a deep shift in paradigm. We typically seek first to be understood.

STEPHEN COVEY'S SEVEN PRINCIPLES - APPPM - DOING PROJECTS

From wiki.doing-projects.org
  • Proactive. Being proactive is very much about taking control of your life. Many people blame others for their lack of success. It’s very important to be conscious about the way we behave to develop a character that focuses on the meaningful things in life.
  • Begin with the end in mind. If you were to imagine yourself being at your own funeral, where people would do speeches about you, what would you like them to say about you?
  • Put first things first. This is about personal management; independent will. The first two habits make you mentally aware of yourself being in charge, and through leadership thinking able to make the right decisions.
  • Think win-win. Having a vision can be very powerful, and you may find yourself entering into very strong arguments when you represent certain ideas. But it’s very important to keep in mind the long-term effect of how you deal with decision making.
  • Seek first to understand, then to be understood. Trying to provide a solution before you even understand the problem, is what frequently happens when different people share issues and experiences.
