CHICKEN LIVER TREATS FOR PUSSY CATS
I picked up this recipe from the local vet clinic several years ago - it contained garlic. I have since received information from a qualified member that garlic & onions are poison to cats and so I have removed the garlic from the recipe - it may not be as tasty but it will be safe - Thanks to the member that sent me the info! There is however some controversy as to the harmful effects of garlic & onion on cats - Check with your local vet,

KITTY LIVER! (CAT FOOD)
No, not "kitty litter" or "livers of kitty". Show me a cat that doesn't like liver and I'll.... show you a cat that doesn't like liver. Yeah! That's what I'M sayin'!

HOMEMADE CAT FOOD
We have a 20-year old cat, Smoki, who is a bit finicky, so I went looking for a recipe he would like. This one is my modification of Recipe #91152, adjusting it to utilize an entire one pound container of chicken livers. (The cat is the only one in the house who likes liver.) I also poach the livers before chopping to make them keep better in the fridge. Smoki loves this recipe, and it is cheaper than premium cat food. Our other cat, Hector, is only 18 months, and he loves it, too.

BASIC CHICKEN AND RICE DINNER FOR CATS
Be sure to add your cat's daily supplements to each meal in the quantities recommended for each on the packages. A good quality vitamin/mineral supplement. A bone meal supplement. This can be either nutritional grade bone meal, finely crushed eggshells or a calcium lactate supplement. 250 to 500 mg. of taurine per day. Many owners will also provide oat grass or wheat grass plants for their cats to chew on. (Check to make sure that the grass you select is not toxic to cats. Several are.) Preparation and cooking times are approximate.
