4 large eggs
1 cup canola oil
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, optional
FILLING:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons 2% milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
GLAZE:
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon shortening
3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, beat eggs, oil, sugar and vanilla until well blended. Combine flour, cocoa and salt; gradually beat into egg mixture. Stir in walnuts if desired., Pour into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake 30 minutes or until a toothpick insert in center comes out with moist crumbs. Cool completely. , For filling, in a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in milk and vanilla. Gradually beat in flour. Spread over brownies; chill until firm. , For glaze, in a microwave, melt chocolate chips and shortening; stir until smooth. Spread over filling. Immediately sprinkle with nuts, pressing down slightly. Let stand until set.

2 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
2 tablespoons milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Prepare brownie mix according to package instructions.
  • Sprinkle flour on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes to kill any lingering bacteria.
  • In a medium bowl mix together the flour, milk, sugar, butter, salt, and vanilla.
  • Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Pour cookie dough on top of baked and cooled brownies and spread evenly with a spatula.
  • Cool in the refrigerator.

Instead of enjoying a tasty brownie and cookie dough separately, mix them together for your new favorite dessert.

1 box (1 lb 2.4 oz) Betty Crocker™ Salted Caramel Brownie Mix
Water, vegetable oil and egg called for on brownie mix box
1 roll (16.5 oz) refrigerated chocolate chip cookies
1 container (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Chocolate Frosting, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray. (See Kitchen Tip regarding disposable foil pan.) Set caramel pouch from brownie mix aside. In large bowl, stir brownie mix, water, oil and egg with spoon until well blended. Spread half of batter in pan.
  • Break cookie dough into small pieces. Sprinkle pieces evenly over brownie batter in pan; lightly press into batter. Squeeze pouch of caramel from brownie mix to soften. Cut 1/4-inch tip from corner of pouch; squeeze caramel between pieces of cookie dough, using entire pouch. Spoon remaining brownie batter over caramel and cookie dough.
  • Bake 34 to 38 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely, about 1 1/2 hours.
  • Frost with chocolate frosting. For brownies, cut into 8 rows by 6 rows.

3/4 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup chopped pecans

2 oz unsweetened baking chocolate
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 cups powdered sugar
3 to 4 tablespoons hot water

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray cookie sheets with cooking spray. In medium bowl, mix cookie ingredients until well blended.
  • Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
  • Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until set. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheets to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
  • In 2-quart saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in powdered sugar and 3 tablespoons of the hot water until smooth. (If frosting is too thick, add additional water, 1 teaspoon at a time.) Spread frosting over cookies.

1 1/4 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
3/4 cup melted butter
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2 tablespoons milk
10 tablespoons butter, at room temp
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon molasses
2 -3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream or 2 -3 tablespoons half-and-half
1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup mini chocolate chip

Steps:

  • Cupcakes: in a bowl whisk flour, powder, and salt. In large bowl (I use my stand mixer) whisk sugar, brown sugar and cocoa. Once combined, pour in melted butter and mix until combined. Mix in eggs, vanilla, then stir in milk. Once combined add dry ingredients until just combined (will be very thick).
  • Use mini cupcake pan with liners.
  • Spoon into liners - fill about 2/3 full.
  • Bake 7-10 minutes. Shorter baking time will yield chewier brownies. Let cool completely.
  • Frosting: with electric mixer, whip butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Slowly mix in flour, then powdered sugar, vanilla, molasses and 2 tablespoons of cream or half and half. If too thick you can add extra tablespoon. Fold in chips.
  • If you wish to pipe this (the easiest way I've found) fill frosting bag but do not use a tip (the chips will clog the tip)
  • If you have extra frosting you can store it in the fridge, it's great to dip graham crackers, pretzels, or just about anything into.
