My mom came up with this recipe when I was a child. It is the ONLY way I will eat green onions.

¼ cup butter
¼ cup soy sauce
1 bunch green onions
2 cloves garlic, minced
6 pork butt steaks

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a skillet, and mix in the soy sauce. Saute the green onions and garlic until lightly browned.
  • Place the pork steaks in the skillet, cover, and cook 8 to 10 minutes on each side, Remove cover, and continue cooking 10 minutes, or to an internal temperature of 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).

2 tbsp sunflower oil
4 lean pork steaks , about 100g/4oz each
200g mushroom , sliced
2 tsp paprika
2 tbsp redcurrant jelly
50ml clementine juice (from about 2 clementines)
1 tbsp red wine vinegar

Steps:

  • Heat 1 tbsp of the oil in a frying pan, add the pork steaks and fry quickly until browned on both sides (the steaks will still be underdone in the middle at this point). Remove from the pan, add the remaining oil, then fry the mushrooms until softened.
  • Return the pork to the pan, sprinkle in the paprika and stir in the redcurrant jelly and clementine juice. Bring to the boil, stirring to dissolve the jelly. Simmer for about 5 mins, turning the pork halfway through, until the meat and mushrooms are tender.

2 tablespoons canola oil
4 pork steaks
salt and pepper
garlic powder
1 large onion, chopped
1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced or 2 (4 1/2 ounce) cans sliced mushrooms
2 (10 3/4 ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup
1 3/4 cups water
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Brown steaks on each side.
  • While browning, season steaks with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Transfer steaks to a 9x13 inch casserole dish.
  • Sauté the onions and mushrooms in the same skillet.
  • Add water, Worcestershire sauce, dry soup mix, and mushroom soup; mix together until sauce forms.
  • Pour sauce over steaks.
  • Cover dish with aluminum foil.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 90 minutes.
