2 ounces light rum
1 1/2 ounces cream of coconut
1 1/2 ounces pineapple juice
1/2 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
Garnish: pineapple wedge
Garnish: pineapple leaf

Steps:

  • Add the rum, cream of coconut and pineapple and lime juices to a shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 20 to 30 seconds.
  • Strain into a chilled Hurricane glass over pebble ice.
  • Garnish with a pineapple wedge and pineapple leaf.

2 ounces​ light rum
2 ounces​ pineapple juice
1 1/2 ounces​ cream of coconut
Optional: 1 lime wedge
Garnish: pineapple wedge
Garnish: maraschino cherry

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Pour the light rum, pineapple juice, and cream of coconut into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. For a slightly less sweet colada, squeeze the juice of a lime wedge into the shaker.
  • Shake well for at least 30 seconds. When thoroughly shaken, the drink should be creamy with a luscious foam from the pineapple juice.
  • Strain into a chilled collins glass . Alternatively, it will fill 1 large or 2 small cocktail glasses.
  • Garnish with the pineapple wedge and maraschino cherry . Serve and enjoy.

5 ounces (1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons) aged rum
2 ounces (4 tablespoons) cream of coconut (not coconut cream; see notes*)
4 ounces (1/2 cup) pineapple juice
1 ounce (2 tablespoons) lime juice
For the garnish: cocktail cherry

Steps:

  • Blend pineapple and ice until chunky. Add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Serve garnished with a cocktail cherry and drink umbrellas.
