Beyond the creamy, silky-smooth sauce and unmatchable flavour, its simplicity is what makes Campbell's Green Bean Casserole so appealing. Just six ingredients and 10 minutes to put together, this family-pleasing side has been a favourite for over 60 years. Not only that, it's easy to make ahead!

1 can CAMPBELL'S® Condensed Cream of Cremini & Shiitake Mushroom
1/2 cup 125 mL milk
1 tsp 5 mL soy sauce
1 dash black pepper
4 cups 1 L cooked green beans
1 1/3 cups 330 mL French's® French Fried Onions

Steps:

  • Stir the soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, beans and 2/3 cup of the onions in an 8-inch (1.5 qt) casserole.
  • Bake at 350°F (180°C). for 25 minutes or until the bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the bean mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining onions.
  • Bake for 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown.

Your favourite classic holiday side dish got a mini makeover! Green bean casserole makes a deliciously creamy filling for individual easy-to-make biscuits that you can make right in your muffin tin.

4 cups 1 L frozen cut green beans, thawed
1 can CAMPBELL'S® Condensed 40% Less Salt Cream of Mushroom Soup
1/2 cup 125 mL 2% milk
2 tsp 10 mL Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp 3 mL dried sage leaves, crumbled
2 cups 500 mL shredded Cheddar cheese
1 package (79 g) crispy French fried onions
2 packages ( 340 g) refrigerated country biscuit dough

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray 20 muffin-pan cups with cooking spray. Stir the thawed frozen cut green beans, CAMPBELL’S® Condensed 40% Less Salt Cream of Mushroom Soup, 2% milk, Dijon mustard and crumbled dried sage leaves in large bowl. Fold in 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese and 2/3 cup crispy French fried onions.
  • On lightly floured surface, press out or roll each biscuit into a 4-inch circle. Press the biscuit circles into the bottoms and up the sides of the muffin-pan cups. Divide the green bean mixture among the biscuit cups.
  • Bake for 17 to 19 minutes or until the biscuit cups are golden. Stir the remaining shredded cheddar cheese and crispy French fried onions in a small bowl. Sprinkle over the green bean mixture.
  • Bake for 3 to 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Let cool in the pans on wire racks for 5 minutes before removing.

This is an extremely easy recipe for the cooks-on-the-go. I got this recipe from the back of the cans of Del Monte Cut Green Beans. I can easily fix this recipe in a hurry and on a budget and my DH LOVES it. You cannot go wrong with this one... Cheese might even help - you know I add cheese to everything - that is why I am "CheesyGal."

1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
3/4 cup milk
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans french-style green beans or 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans cut green beans, drained
1 (2 7/8 ounce) can French-fried onions

Steps:

  • Combine soup, milk, and pepper in a 1-1/2 quart casserole dish; mix well.
  • Stir in beans and 2/3 cup of French fried onions.
  • Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until hot.
  • Stir.
  • Sprinkle with remaining 2/3 cup of onions.
  • Bake 5 minutes or until onions are golden.

1/2 Cup Milk
1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1 1/2 Cups Crispy Fried Onions

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a casserole dish combine green beans, soup and milk.
  • Sprinkle in the salt and pepper.
  • Stir together.
  • Place into the oven and cook for 30 minutes.
  • Take casserole out of the oven and sprinkle french fried onions on top.
  • Place back in the oven and cook for 4-5 minutes or until french fried onions look really golden brown.
  • Serve & enjoy!
