I have tried countless recipes for Cinnamon Rolls trying to find the perfect recipe. This is it!! I can't ever make enough of these at home! They are so easy to make too - don't you just love bread machines!

1 cup warm milk
2 eggs, room temperature
1/3 cup margarine or 1/3 cup butter, melted
4 1/2 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup white sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/3 cup margarine or 1/3 cup butter, softened
3 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in bread machine in order recommended by manufacturer. Select DOUGH cycle press Start.
  • In separate bowl combine cinnamon and sugar.
  • After dough has finished, turn it out onto lightly floured surface and roll into a 16x24 rectangle. Spread dough with butter and sprinkle evenly with cinnamon and sugar mixture. Roll up dough and cut into 12 rolls. Place rolls in lightly greased 9x13 pan. Cover and let rise until almost doubled (about 30 min). Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Bake rolls for 14-16 minutes. While rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese, 1/4 cup butter, confectioners sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Spread frosting on warm rolls.

The bread machine saves energy when making these cinnamon rolls. The machine does the mixing and the initial raising, then you shape, cut, and bake.

For the Dough:
3 1/3 cups bread flour
1 cup milk
1/4 cup butter (1/2 stick, or margarine)
1 large egg
3 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons active dry yeast (or 1 1/2 teaspoons bread machine/rapid rise yeast)
1/2 teaspoon salt
For the Filling:
1/4 cup butter (melted)
1/3 cup nuts (chopped and lightly toasted )
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
For the Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 to 2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Add the ingredients to your bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer (for example, wet ingredients, dry ingredients, yeast). Program the appliance for the dough cycle.
  • When the cycle is done, place the dough onto a floured surface. Knead the dough for about 1 minute, then let it rest for 15 minutes.
  • Roll the dough out into a rectangle, about 15 by 10 inches.
  • Brush the melted butter over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
  • Mix the chopped nuts, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the dough.
  • Starting on the long side, roll the dough up tightly. Press the edges to seal forming a 15-inch long, evenly shaped roll.
  • With a knife or 8-inch piece of unwaxed dental floss, cut the entire roll into 1-inch pieces.
  • Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan .
  • Position a rack in the center of the oven and heat to 375 F. Place the rolls cut-side down in the pan. Cover and let rise in a warm, draft-free place until they double in size, 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Bake the rolls until golden, about 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Combine 1 cup confectioners' sugar, 1 to 2 tablespoons milk, and the vanilla in a bowl. Stir the mixture until smooth. If too thin or too thick, add more confectioners' sugar or milk, respectively, until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Cool the rolls in the pan for 10 to 15 minutes. Drizzle with the icing, and serve warm from the pan.

These cinnamon rolls are the best I have ever had hands down! They are huge and moist and full of sweet flavor.

DOUGH
3 large eggs, room temperature
1/4 c + 3 1/2 tablespoons of warm water 80-90 degrees
6 Tbsp sour cream
6 Tbsp unsalted butter, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
6 Tbsp sugar
4 1/2 c bread flour
1 Tbsp bread machine yeast
FILLING
1 1/2 c brown sugar
2 1/2 Tbsp cinnamon
1/3 c butter, softened
ICING
3 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 c butter, softened
1 1/2 c confectioners sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp salt

Steps:

  • 1. Place the dough ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select dough cycle, press start.
  • 2. After the dough has doubled in size, turn out onto a lightly floured surface, push it down and cover. Let the dough rest for approximately 10 minutes. While the dough is resting, make your filling.
  • 3. In a small bowl combine, the brown sugar and cinnamon. Mix well.
  • 4. Roll dough into a 16 x 21 inch rectangle. Spread the dough with 1/3 cup of butter and sprinkle evenly wth the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Press it down into the dough so it doesn't move around while you roll it up. Roll up the dough and cut into 1 1/2 inch rolls. Place rolls on a lightly greased 9 x 13 baking pan. Cover and let rise until nearly doubled, about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • 5. Bake rolls in preheated oven until golden brown, approximately 25 minutes.
  • 6. While rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese, 1/4 cup of butter, confectioners sugar, vanilla and salt. Spread the frosting on the rolls while they are warm.

VEGAN BREAD MACHINE CINNAMON ROLLS

1 cup warm almond milk
¼ cup vegan margarine, melted
½ cup white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup warm water
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 tablespoon yeast
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup chopped walnuts, or more to taste
1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon, or more to taste
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons almond milk
1 tablespoon vegan margarine, melted

Steps:

  • Prepare dough: Place almond milk, melted vegan margarine, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, vanilla, and flour into a bread machine in the order listed. Start the Dough setting.
  • Mix warm water, 1 tablespoon sugar, and yeast in a glass measuring cup.
  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) for 1 minute. Turn the oven off and immediately place the yeast mixture inside to proof for 15 minutes.
  • Add proofed yeast mixture to the bread machine and let the cycle finish, about 1 hour 45 more minutes.
  • Remove dough and roll into an 12x18-inch rectangle. Mix brown sugar, walnuts, and cinnamon for filling in a bowl; spread evenly over the dough. Starting at the long end of the rectangle, roll dough into a log; slice log into 1-inch wide pieces. Transfer to a greased baking pan with cut-sides up.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 1 minute. Turn the oven off; immediately place the rolls inside along with an uncovered bowl of boiling water. Allow rolls to proof for 1 hour.
  • Remove rolls from the oven. Preheat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Bake rolls in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, mix powdered sugar, almond milk, and melted vegan margarine for glaze in a bowl.
  • Remove rolls from the oven and spread glaze evenly over top.

1 cup milk
3 tablespoons water
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup butter
3 1/3 cups all-purpose white flour
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons yeast
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3 3/4 teaspoons cinnamon
2 tablespoons softened butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
2 -3 teaspoons milk

Steps:

  • Put yeast in bread machine first on bottom, then flour, sugar and salt.
  • Then melt butter in microwave. Add beaten egg, milk and water.
  • Pour onto dry ingredients in bread machine on the dough setting.
  • When dough is done, put it onto a lightly floured surface.
  • Knead in enough flour to make it easy to handle.
  • If it is too elastic, cover and leave 10 minutes.
  • Use floured rolling pin to roll out dough on floured surface.
  • Roll out into rectangular shape to approx 1/4-inch thick.
  • Use filling and spread over entire surface of dough with spoon.
  • Roll up dough.
  • Cut into circle with a sharp knife about 1-inch thick; place these in a greased 9x13-inch pan.
  • Cover with a tea towel and leave in a warm place for approx 30 minutes, until double in size.
  • Bake in a 350° oven for about 25 minutes, light brown on top.
  • When done, make glaze and swirl over buns.

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 -2 tablespoon milk

Steps:

  • Place water, 2 Tablespoons butter, bread flour, 1/4 cup white granulated sugar, salt and yeast in the bread machine and start on dough cycle.
  • Once dough is complete, roll out into a 9" square on a lightly floured surface.
  • Mix 1/3 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon together (I mix it in a measuring cup).
  • Spread 2 Tablespoons softened margarine over the dough and sprinkle with the cinnamon mixture.
  • Roll up tightly into a log and pinch the edges to seal.
  • Cut into 1" slices and place in a greased 9"x9"x2" square pan (brownie pan).
  • Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let rise 1 hour or so until double, OR in refrigerator overnight if making for breakfast.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F and bake 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Mix powdered sugar, vanilla and milk to make glaze, drizzle over rolls and serve warm.
