A tube of cinnamon roll dough and a little imagination make these adorable bunnies almost too cute to eat! They're sure to appeal to "somebunny" at your house this Easter. -Jenni Sharp, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

1 tube (12.4 ounces) refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
Optional decorations: red food coloring, assorted candies and decorating gel

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°. Separate dough into eight rolls. Place four rolls on a greased baking sheet., Using a 2-in. biscuit cutter, cut 3/4 in. into each side of remaining rolls, forming ears and bow ties. Add ears and bow ties to cinnamon rolls, pinching to attach; press slightly to flatten. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown., Spread icing over bunnies, tinting a portion pink with food coloring if desired. Decorate as desired with candies and gel.

Turn refrigerated cinnamon roll dough into adorable bunnies. These sweet treats are perfect for Easter brunches and baby showers.

1 (16 ounce) package cinnamon roll dough with glaze (such as Immaculate®)
5 raisins

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unroll the dough of 1 cinnamon roll and cut in half. Roll 1 of the halves to form the "body". Rotate the roll so the outer end of the roll is facing downward. This will form the bunny's "front legs". Cut off 1/3 of the remaining dough and roll it up to form the "tail". Roll up the last 2/3 of the dough to about the halfway point to form the "head". Slice through the remaining unrolled portion and fan out the pieces to form the "ears".
  • To attach the "tail" and "head" to the "body", rub away any cinnamon coating, wet the dough, and press the pieces together. Spread out the "ears" and pinch them at the tips to shape. Repeat with remaining rolls.
  • Transfer the "bunnies" to the prepared baking sheet by carefully lifting with a spatula or scraper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 15 to 18 minutes. Slide parchment paper with "bunnies" onto a rack to cool slightly.
  • Spread the glaze onto the warm "bunnies", following the pattern of the swirls and ears. Press a raisin in the the center of the swirl on the head to form the "eyes".

When I married him, I discovered that my husband's family has the best cinnamon roll recipe! I asked his mom how to make homemade cinnamon rolls, and I've been making them ever since. Serve them with scrambled eggs, and you have a filling breakfast. As a variation, you can replace the filling with a mixture of raisins and pecans. -Shenai Fisher, Topeka, Kansas

Number Of Ingredients 17

1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
1 cup warm whole milk (110° to 115°)
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter, melted
2 large eggs, room temperature
1 teaspoon salt
4 to 4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
FILLING:
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, melted, divided
FROSTING:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • Dissolve yeast in warm milk. In another bowl, combine sugar, butter, eggs, salt, yeast mixture and 2 cups flour; beat on medium speed until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough (dough will be sticky)., Turn dough onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour., Mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Punch down dough; divide in half. On a lightly floured surface, roll 1 portion into an 11x8-in. rectangle. Brush with 2 tablespoons butter; sprinkle with half the brown sugar mixture to within 1/2 in. of edges. Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side; pinch seam to seal. Cut into 8 slices; place in a greased 13x9-in. pan, cut side down. Cover with a kitchen towel. Repeat with remaining dough and filling. Let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350°., Bake until golden brown, 20-25 minutes. Cool on wire racks., For frosting, beat butter, cream cheese, vanilla and salt until blended; gradually beat in confectioners' sugar. Spread over tops. Refrigerate leftovers.

Rub off any cinnamon coating from tail and head pieces, dab water on dough, and press pieces onto body to attach. Spread out ear strips, and pinch dough at tips to shape. Repeat twice with remaining cinnamon rolls.
  • Bake in preheated oven until rolls are golden brown and cooked through, 13 to 15 minutes. Let cool on baking sheet 5 minutes. Evenly spread icing from can over warm rolls. Place 1 chocolate chip on each bunny where eye would be.
