I've been told I'm not allowed to come to neighborhood parties unless I bring this dip! It's always a big hit. I usually serve it with strawberries and pineapple, but it's good with other fruit, such as apples and melon. -Sarah Maury Swan, Granite, Maryland

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup baking cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups whipped topping
Assorted fruit for dipping

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Beat in cocoa and vanilla. Beat in whipped topping until smooth. Serve with fruit.

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 to 2 teaspoons shortening
1 package (6 ounces) dried apricots
1 pint fresh strawberries

Steps:

  • In a microwave, melt chocolate chips and shortening; stir until smooth. Spear fruit with toothpicks; dip into chocolate. Allow excess to drip off. Place on waxed paper or stick toothpicks into a block of Styrofoam to set.

1-1/2 cups plain yogurt
2 tablespoons fat-free milk
10 miniature marshmallows
2 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips
Assorted fresh fruit

Steps:

  • Line a strainer with 4 layers of cheesecloth or 1 coffee filter and place over a bowl. Place yogurt in prepared strainer; cover yogurt with edges of cheesecloth. Refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight., In a small heavy saucepan, combine the milk, marshmallows and chocolate chips. Cook and stir until chips are melted and mixture is smooth. Transfer to a small bowl; cool to room temperature., Remove yogurt from cheesecloth and discard liquid from bowl. Gradually stir yogurt into milk mixture. Refrigerate until serving. Serve with fruit.

8 ounces cool whip
¾ cup milk chocolate chips ((or semi-sweet, whatever you prefer))
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Place the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, then remove and stir. Microwave in additional 15 second increments (stirring in between) until chocolate is melted.
  • Stir cinnamon into the chocolate, and fold in a 1/2 cup of cool whip. Mix until completely combined.
  • Add in the rest of the cool whip and serve with fruit.

2 teaspoons cocoa powder, sifted (you could also try carob)
1 tablespoon peanut butter (almond butter would be great too!)
1 teaspoon honey (optional, to taste)

Steps:

  • Stir all ingredients together well. Taste and sweeten if needed, though I don't think extra sugar is necessary. Serve with fruit chunks or slices.
