SIMPLE CHILLI CHICKEN RECIPE BY TASTY

Here's what you need: chicken breasts, salt, pepper, egg, flour, green pepper, red pepper, rice, garlic cloves, red chilli, soy sauce, tomato puree, water

2 chicken breasts
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1 egg, beaten
¾ cup flour
1 green pepper, sliced
1 red pepper, sliced
rice, to serve
3 cloves garlic cloves, crushed
1 red chilli, chopped
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons tomato puree
½ cup water

Steps:

  • Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
  • Cut the chicken into thin strips then coat in the egg wash and flour.
  • Shallow fry for a few minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  • Add the peppers and fry for another couple of minutes. Remove the chicken and peppers and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add the garlic, red chilli, soy sauce, tomato purée, and water. Stir and simmer the mixture reduces and is thick and syrupy.
  • Add back in the chicken and peppers and stir well in the sauce.
  • Serve with rice.
  • Enjoy!

6 boneless chicken thighs
4 Hatch chile peppers
2 cups water, divided
1 large white onion, diced
1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans (chickpeas), drained
1 (1.25 ounce) package white chicken chili seasoning mix (such as McCormick®)

Steps:

  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  • Grill chicken thighs until browned, about 5 minutes per side. Transfer to a cutting board; dice.
  • Grill Hatch chile peppers, turning frequently, until blackened and blistered, 2 to 3 minutes. Cool until easily handled, about 5 minutes. Peel off skin and dice flesh into small pieces.
  • Place diced chile peppers in a large pot. Add 1 tablespoon of water and onion; cook and stir until onion softens, about 5 minutes. Stir in diced chicken, remaining water, garbanzo beans, and chili seasoning mix. Simmer until flavors combine, about 20 minutes.

  • Add all the ingredients except the cream cheese to a 4 quart or larger slow cooker. Give everything a big stir. Cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3 hours.
  • Remove the chicken and chop into bite-sized pieces or use two forks to shred it. Return chicken to the slow cooker and add the cream cheese. Stir everything together until the cream cheese has melted. Taste, then add more salt or seasonings if desired. I usually add a little more chili powder and dried oregano/Italian seasoning blend. Cover the slow cooker and cook for about 10-15 more minutes.
  • Serve warm topped with fresh cilantro, shredded cheese, or crackers. And serve alongside my favorite cornbread or dinner rolls. Cover and store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Reheat on the stove or in the microwave.

  • In a medium bowl mix together Kashmiri red chili powder, salt, black pepper, ginger paste, garlic paste, vinegar, water, cornstarch, and all-purpose flour. Add chicken pieces and coat well. Allow the chicken to marinate for 10-minutes as you prep the veggies.
  • Preheat the air fryer for 5 mins at 400 F. Lightly spray the bottom of the air fryer basket with oil. Line half of the chicken in the basket. Do not overcrowd them so you can get crispy chicken. Lightly spray oil over the chicken. Cook at 380 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes shaking the basket halfway through. Take the air-fried chicken out and reserve. Repeat with the remaining chicken.
  • Heat oil in a medium skillet. Add white scallions, ginger, garlic, green chili, and saute for 1 to 2 minutes as the garlic starts to turn light golden and aromatic.
