Kids of all ages love pizza and cheeseburgers, and this recipe combines them both. My grandchildren usually request pizza for supper when they visit me. They like to help me assemble this cheeseburger pizza, and they especially enjoy eating it! -Cherie Ackerman, Lakeland, Minnesota

1/2 pound ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 prebaked 12-inch pizza crust
1 can (8 ounces) pizza sauce
6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
20 dill pickle slices
2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon pizza or Italian seasoning

Steps:

  • Cook beef and onion in a large skillet over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain and set aside., Place crust on an ungreased 12-in. pizza pan. Spread with pizza sauce. Top with beef mixture, bacon, pickles and cheeses. Sprinkle with pizza seasoning. Bake at 450° for 8-10 minutes or until cheese is melted.

2 tablespoons sugar
1 package (1/4 ounce) quick-rise yeast
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
3/4 cup warm water (120° to 130°)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 jar (10 ounces) sun-dried tomato pesto
1 large red onion, chopped
1/4 cup bacon bits
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 cup sharp shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, sugar, yeast and salt. Add water and oil; mix until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a firm dough., Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes., Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium heat, cook the beef, garlic and pepper until meat is no longer pink; drain., On a floured surface, roll dough into a 15-in. circle. Transfer to a greased 14-in. pizza pan. Build up edges slightly. Prick dough thoroughly with a fork. Bake at 450° for 5-8 minutes or until lightly browned., Sprinkle crust with Parmesan cheese. Top with pesto, meat mixture, onion, bacon bits, and mozzarella and cheddar cheeses. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted.

28 fancy toothpicks
28 cherry tomatoes
3 leaves romaine lettuce, cut into 28 (1 1/2-inch) pieces
1/2 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
1 lb ground beef
1 egg
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 oz Cheddar cheese, cut into 1/4-inch cubes (about 1/2 cup)

Steps:

  • In 10-inch nonstick skillet, cook bacon over medium heat, turning often, until browned but not overly crisp. Drain on paper towels. Discard all but 1 tablespoon drippings. Cut each bacon slice into 4 pieces.
  • On each toothpick, thread 1 tomato half, 1 bacon piece and 1 lettuce piece; set aside.
  • In large bowl, mix remaining ingredients except cheese. Fold in cheese. Shape tablespoonfuls of mixture into meatballs; flatten slightly to resemble hamburgers.
  • In same skillet, heat bacon drippings over medium-high heat. Cook burgers in drippings 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until meat is no longer pink. Insert 1 toothpick in each burger; serve immediately.

All-purpose flour, for dusting
4 slices bacon, chopped
1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 clove garlic, grated
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (about 4 ounces)
1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese (about 4 ounces)
1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Put a pizza stone or inverted baking sheet on the lowest oven rack and preheat to 475 degrees F for at least 15 minutes. Meanwhile, roll out the dough into a 9-inch round on a lightly floured surface. Lightly dust a pizza peel or another inverted baking sheet with flour; lay the round of dough on top and set aside. Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring, until crisp, about 6 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Combine the tomato sauce, olive oil, garlic and oregano in a medium bowl; season with salt and pepper. Slide the dough directly onto the hot stone or baking sheet and bake until lightly golden and puffy, about 7 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly, then carefully slice the crust in half horizontally with a serrated knife to make 2 thin crusts. Turn the crusts cut-side up. Spread with the sauce mixture, then top evenly with the mozzarella, cheddar and bacon. 2 cups shredded American cheese (about 8 ounces)1/4 whole dill pickle, sliced into thin rounds
1/4 small red onion, finely diced, then rinsed and drained

Shredded lettuce, for serving, optional

Steps:

  • Place a baking stone or inverted large baking sheet on the lowest rack of the oven and preheat to 450 degrees F.
  • Cook the beef in a medium skillet over medium heat just until no longer pink, about 4 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the beef to paper towels to drain and let cool 5 minutes. Put the cooled beef in a bowl, stir in the mustard to coat and sprinkle with some salt and pepper.
