There's nothing cuter than cocktail rye bread. And nothing more delicious than topping those tiny slices with mayo, green onions and cheddar.

1/3 cup KRAFT Real Mayo Mayonnaise
1 green onion, thinly sliced
16 slices cocktail rye bread, toasted
1 pkg. (8 oz.) CRACKER BARREL Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese, cut into 16 slices

Steps:

  • Heat broiler.
  • Mix mayo and onions until blended; spread onto toast slices. Top with cheese.
  • Place on baking sheet.
  • Broil 1 to 2 min. or until cheese is melted.

1 tub (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread
1/2 cup KRAFT 2% Milk Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
14 slices whole wheat sandwich bread, crusts trimmed
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400ºF.
  • Mix cream cheese spread and cheddar until blended.
  • Flatten bread slices with rolling pin; spread with butter. Turn over; spread with cream cheese mixture. Roll up tightly; cut in half. Roll, 1 piece at a time, in Parmesan until evenly coated. Place on baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Bake 12 to 14 min. or until golden brown.

Number Of Ingredients 7

6 oz finely grated extra-sharp Cheddar (1 1/2 cups)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
6 tablespoons finely chopped sweet onion
32 thin slices firm white sandwich bread
3/4 stick (6 tablespoons) unsalted butter, softened
2 bunches fresh chives, very thinly sliced (3/4 cup)
Special equipment: a 2-inch round cookie cutter

Steps:

  • Stir together Cheddar, mayonnaise, onion, and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cut out a round from each bread slice with cookie cutter. Arrange 8 bread rounds on a work surface and divide half of Cheddar mayonnaise among them, spreading evenly to edges. Top each with a plain round. Cover sandwiches with plastic wrap and make more in same manner.
  • Spread a thin layer of butter around cut edges of rounds and roll in chives, pressing with your fingertips.

2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup boiling water
1/3 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
1/3 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
3 tablespoons chopped green onions (3 medium)

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F. In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, garlic powder and water until soft dough forms. Let stand about 10 minutes or until cool.
  • Meanwhile, in small bowl, mix mayonnaise, Cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, and onions until blended.
  • Place dough on surface sprinkled with Bisquick mix; roll in Bisquick mix to coat. Shape into a ball; knead 12 to 15 times or until smooth. Press or roll dough until 1/8 inch thick. Cut with 2-inch round cutter dipped in Bisquick mix. On ungreased cookie sheet, place rounds about 1 inch apart. Spoon cheese mixture on each round.
  • Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until topping is golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Serve warm.
