CARRABBA'S OLIVE OIL BREAD DIP



Carrabba's Olive Oil Bread Dip image

Recreate Carrabbas Italian Butter at home. It is so easy to make this herb and garlic bread dipping sauce.

1/8 teaspoon oregano
1/8 teaspoon basil
1/8 teaspoon rosemary
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 teaspoons minced garlic
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Steps:

  • Mix together the dry spices. Add minced garlic to the dry spices. Place on a small saucer. Pour olive oil over mixture. Dip with your favorite hot French or sourdough bread.

The herb blend of basil, parsley, and rosemary are what make this bread dipping sauce recipe a close copycat to Carrabba's version.

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil (or as needed)

Steps:

  • Mix together the all the ingredients except olive oil. Place them in a shallow plate or bowl. Pour the olive oil over the spices, adding more as needed. Use the herb oil for dipping chunks of bread or bread sticks.

1 tablespoon basil, minced
1 tablespoon Italian or curly parsley, chopped
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt or ground sea salt
1/2 teaspoon rosemary, chopped
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon olive oil
1/8 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Additional olive oil for serving
Bread for dipping

Steps:

  • Combine all of the ingredients, except oil and lemon, in small food processor. Pulse briefly, just until all ingredients are evenly chopped. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon oil and lemon juice. Refrigerate in airtight container. To serve, combine about 1 1/2 teaspoons spice blend with 3 to 4 tablespoons olive oil on a small dish. Serve with bread for dipping.

I tried this recipe and it is EXTREMELY close to the one they serve in the restuarant! To serve this you just add a half of a cup of good quality olive oil to 1 Tbls. of this herb mix and dip a nice piece of crusty Italian bread in it! Great with a good glass of wine! The photo is my own.

1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1 Tbsp black pepper
1 Tbsp dried rosemary
1 Tbsp dried basil
1 Tbsp dried parsley
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp minced fresh garlic
1 tsp kosher salt

Steps:

  • 1. To use, put 1 tablespoon of mixture in a small bowl. Pour extra virgin olive oil (about 1/2 cup) over and mix together.
  • 2. Dip crusty Italian bread into the oil/herb mixture.
  • 3. NOTE: Because this mix contains fresh garlic, refrigerate unused portion and use within 1-2 weeks.

  • To serve: Combine 1 1/2 teaspoon spice blend to 3-4 tablespoons olive oil on a small dish.

1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/4 teaspoon dried basil (if using fresh reduce parsley to 1 tbsp.) or 1 tablespoon fresh basil (if using fresh reduce parsley to 1 tbsp.)
1/8 teaspoon dried rosemary or 1/2 teaspoon fresh rosemary
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper or 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
1/8 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients except olive oil & lemon in a blender or food processor and chop until all ingredients are similar in size. Stir in the olive oil & lemon juice.
  • For Serving:.
  • In a small dish, place 1 1/2 teaspoons spice mixture. Pour 3-4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil over top of the spice mixture. Serve with french bread for dipping.
