1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup cold butter, cubed
8 cups thinly sliced peeled tart apples
1 package (14 ounces) caramels, halved
1 cup apple cider, divided

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar and cinnamon; cut in butter until crumbly. Press half the mixture into a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Layer half of each of the following: apples, caramels and remaining oat mixture. Repeat layers. Drizzle 1/2 cup cider over top., Bake, uncovered, 30 minutes. Drizzle with remaining cider; bake until apples are tender, 15-20 minutes longer.

5 large Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
½ cup white sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
¼ cup water
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup quick cooking oats
1 cup butter, softened
1 (14 ounce) package individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 F (175 degree C).
  • In a medium size bowl, toss apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, lemon juice, and water; spread evenly into a 8x8 inch pan. In another bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, oats, and butter; spoon mixture evenly over apples.
  • In a heavy sauce pan over low heat, melt the caramels with the evaporated milk. Heat , stirring frequently, until mixture has a smooth consistency. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the top of the crumble.
  • Bake in preheated oven for about 45 minutes (apple mixture will bubble and topping will be golden brown).

5 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced thin (about six cups)
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp kosher salt
1/4 cup caramel sauce, more for serving (store-bought or homemade)
1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1/2 cup light brown sugar
3/4 cup butter, melted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Prepare an 8 x 8 baking dish by greasing it with butter.
  • For the filling, place sliced apples in the prepared baking dish and sprinkle with the brown sugar, cornstarch and salt. Toss with your hands to coat. Drizzle with the caramel sauce.
  • For the crumble topping, stir together the flour, walnuts and brown sugar in a medium bowl. Add the melted butter and stir to combine. Sprinkle the topping over the apples. Bake for 22 minutes, or until the crust has lightly browned. Serve warm, drizzled with caramel sauce and topped with ice cream.

8-10 medium apples , peeled and sliced
2 tsp apple pie spice
1 c brown sugar, packed
1 Tbsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 c butter, cold
1/2 c rum or apple juice
1 c chopped walnuts
1/3 c caramel ice cream topping
1 pkg oatmeal cookie mix-or 2 cups bisquick

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 375^. Combine apple slices and apple pie spice. Arrange apple slices in a greased 9x13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle walnuts over apples then drizzle the caramel over nuts. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon , nutmeg and cookie mix- or Bisquick, in a bowl. Add butter and blend as for pie crust until crumbly. Set aside. Pour rum over caramel.. Sprinkle cookie mixture over all evenly. Bake for 45 minutes or until apples are tender.

6 cups thinly sliced peeled tart apples
1/3 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon cornstarch

TOPPING:
1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons dark corn syrup

  • Line a 9-in. pie plate with bottom pastry; trim even with edge of plate. Arrange apples in crust; set aside., In a small saucepan, combine the corn syrup, sugar, butter, cornstarch, cinnamon and salt. Cook and stir over low heat until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved. Pour over apples., Roll out remaining pastry to fit top of pie; place over filling. I don't know why anyone would make a pie instead of a crisp. A crisp, most often made with apples but accommodating of almost any fruit, is better textured, better flavored and easier to make. If you choose to use pears instead of apples, be aware that unripe pears are unlikely to become tender in the time it takes the topping to brown. You must begin with pears that have started to soften, or their texture will remain unpleasantly firm.

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, or more to taste

Steps:
